Black Caviar's half brother fighting for life

Nov 14 2013

The $5 million half-brother to Black Caviar is fighting for life after he was bitten by a white tail spider.
The two-year-old colt was taken to the Werribee Veterinary Clinic for treatment when he suffered an allergic reaction to the antibiotic he was treated with which reportedly led to diarrhoea which consequently led to the onset of laminitis.
BC3 Thoroughbreds which own him sent a message from Twitter on Thursday morning explaining the colt, known as Jimmy, will recieve the best care possible.
"Jimmy developed major complications during treatment. Prognosis 50/50 but he is receiving great care, including overseas consultants"
