The Rockets problem is that Mchale forcefeeds a lineup with Asik and Howard out there, at the same time, for about 12-15 minutes every game. This continually puts the Rockets behind at the start of the game. It happened again last night. This pisses me off because they are just doing this to please one player (Asik), after he wanted a trade in the offseason. Please trade his ass, and use Greg Jones as the back up center.

Home court and seedings mean everyrhing to win title

You're right JJ. You need to be defensively minded and have length to win the whole thing these days.

Heat would still win the NBA Title even as the 8th seed

Heat would never of one as an eight seed they would've been knocked out in the second round

You cannot win on the road in the NBA in the playoffs in a long series meaning multiple series

Yeah bear heat would of won title without home court last year right? 2 game 7 showdowns were both at home.

Pacers only threat to heat. Nobody in the west is beating them.

Golden state and okla city are only contenders in west. They have the players and experience. Of course 2 wks doesn't make a team, but those two teams mentioned have some glaring problems

Rockets are way overrated. I still think the Clippers will be solid. Losing to the Heat in Miami isn't a big deal.

He just watches one game and thinks the players play like that the whole year around. He also thinks JJ reddick is a superstar.

clippers are not ok. they play absolutely zero defense and depend on chris paul for offense and defense.

not sure about the Clippers but no one expects the Rockets to win a championship in Howard and Harden's first year playing together.

Hopefully the bookmakers think the Clippers are a joke so I can take them to the bank even harder this year.

i thought the rockets had a chance at the championship before the regular season started. then i watched them and they were basically the same as last year...poor perimeter defense, poor starts to games, and poor late game execution. it doesn't matter that they have howard now because he's not being used enough to create easier offense. and as long as harden plays hero ball and zero defense, it doesn't matter how much he scores, because he gives up way more on the other end.

Not convinced by Rockets...no depth. Warriors haven't beat anyone really. if they can pick up wins against memphis and san antonio this weekend I'll consider them contenders.

Griffin is still young, and has potential to be the best big man in the league. Howard is a baby. Chris Paul will turn Griffin into a monster by the end of the year. He has the fire in his eyes. The West is anyone's game.

    Heat 3 Peat.

Long, long season. The West is tough. Howard can literally not shoot free throws as good as i can and that's gonna be an issue all season and through the playoffs.

Golden State and OKC are very tough. GS lost tonight with Curry out with no good reason except its the 6th game of an 82 gm season. GS didnt score in the last 2 mins. Thats how it goes in the NBA in November. Need to wait before declaring teams toast.

Harden is the best SG in the game by far, and Howard is the best Center in the game by far. Griffin has been a monster so far this year and all of last year. Not sure where this thread is going. Either can easily win the west?

Howard under 50% ft. If Howard is the best center in the game by far then Jeremy Lin is the best point guard of all time and the jags are winning the superbowl

lol wut? Who is the best center then? His defensive impact, even last year when he wasn't near 100%, is real, and more then Hibbert or Marc Gasol. So is his rebounding. And offensive game. Nobody is even close.

If FT% throws Howard out of contention, then Wilt the Stilt and Shaq by extension weren't good centers either.

howard single handly loses games with his ft shooting, nowhere near as dominant as shaq or wilt, very clumsy too many turnovers, bad team player out of position. his potential is through the roof, clearly a visible beast with lots of athleticism, but the past few years have been disappointing. if he starts dominating more on offense, it can overcome his bad free throw shooting. hibbert been better on d so far this year.
