Chip Kelly Run Out of Plays For The Eagles Offense

He thought the NFL is like the PAC12 where you run the same plays on Cal and Washy St in back to back weeks and you win.

So after the first 5 weeks everyone had enough film on Eagles offense and completely shut it down.

This guy is not going to have a job if he doesn't design any plays soon.

I dont really understand why everyone is so down on Kelly, this team went 3-13 last year and lost their best receiver to injury. If Vck had stayed healthy they would be 5-3 right now, plus two of their losses are to Denver and KC

His problem is he was arrogant enough - and the Eagles were foolish enough - to think there was something inherent n the system that scored all those points. It wasn't the system, it was the fact that at Oregon, the 6 fastest players on the field were literally the 6 offensive skill players (with a few, very rare exceptions). Now that he's in the pros and all those defenders are just as fast as your QB, RB and WR's, the "system" doesn't work. Meanwhile, back at Oregon, they're proving they didn't need Kelly to score 50+ per game.

People are "down on him" because he came in as this heralded offensive genius, and they've scored 3 offensive points in the past 2 games. And before you use the fact that they have an injured QB as an excuse, you should bear in mind that one of the main criticisms of his "system" is that in the NFL, it will be impossible to keep a QB healthy for an extended period of time.

Vick, Foles and Barkley aren't the answer in Philly. Neither is Chip Kelly.

Exactly. Teams in the NFL have personnel to match the fast players that he is using in his system. Teams in the PAC12 do not have players to match the fastest players of Oregon.

The major issues are his weaknesses are being exposed already. He's not a great, maybe even good in-game coach. He does not make adjustments well at all and seems to be a very slow in-game learner. Obviously this was never an issue at Oregon where he had leads probably 90% of the time.

The QB health issues definitely are to blame some, but that's why you have three QBs on your roster and your job is to make sure all of them fit into your system. One of the biggest things that no one talks about - Maclin being lost for the season. They are missing a big weapon without him in there. If Maclin was healthy along with DJax and then Cooper being able to slot into where he should be as a #3 .. I think the offense would be much more productive especially if they consistently used their f-ing TEs who are wasting in this offense right now.

He seems to have already given up on the hyper tempo as their # of plays from what I know is equivalent now to about what the Eagles ran per game under Reid. I think it would have been foolish to expect the players to be able to fit into this system without any problems with just one off-season of implementation. If he sticks around, next year will be a more fair indicator I think of what he can do with the talent.

What they really need is a QB with young legs who fits into the system if they are going to continue to try this hyper tempo BS as long as Master Chip is around. I like Foles, but if he is going to be an option, the system has to change. There is no point to have a read-option type of set-up if your QB cannot run and Foles cannot run.

I would add that the eagles team as a whole looks/looked incredibly unprepared over the past few weeks...
even kellen off-the-street clemens and the rams looked better prepared last night with a week of practice.
