    Wait what exactly is this?

A contest to see who can guess which line moves the most? Did I read that right?

Houston Coming off that shootout 1 point loss against BYU @ home, and now they have to travel all the way to Jersey and Play Rutgers who has 16 days to prepare! What a horrible spot for them.

Rutgers has to be worth a look right off the bat.

    I'll give it a shot:

    North Carolina State +29.

Looks like a sandwich game for Florida State.

Utah in a bounce back spot +6.5???

Does Miami rebound and roll Wake, with the extra prep time?

    Texas Tech +8???

Stanford/Oregon St. is very interesting match up.

    Iowa St. +14 looks tasty.

Louisville/USF should be a very low scoring game. They always seem to struggle down there and are clearly going to have the hangover of blowing their season.

Some things that jump out to me early

    - I like Texas +2. They had everything an elite Big XII team should have except for confidence, and they finally have that now. TCU about as unexciting as it gets.

    - North Texas is my daddy. If it drops to -10, I'm all over it. So Miss is awful, but Tulane was too and they won outright. Gotta play the odds here though.

    - Wyoming in a tailspin. This is not the same team that almost beat Nebraska. Couldn't even keep it close as a TD home fave against Colorado State, now only +5.5 on the Road against a solid SJSU team? SJSU BEAT Colorado State in Ft. Collins, and is coming off a bye. Big play here for me, unless one of my gurus say otherwise. This line is way off.

    - And the "_________ isn't ________ points better than anybody" award for this week is -- Rice. Unimpressive team, and even through UTEP sucks, they do put up points, and teams like that can cover 17.5 against a below average team with ease. I'll go as far as to say it's an upset alert. Rice has no home field advantage ever. Most of their students are Asian and don't give a shit about football. El Paso to Houston is a boring but relatively painless bus ride, and I can say this from experience.

    - Fresno State will either win by 3 TDs or get beat outright.

    - Virginia is pretty bad. If they played Syracuse right now, the score would end up being a tie somehow. Pound GTech at anything under 10, and don't be afraid to play it after that. GT has a mountain of confidence and steam, UVA knows their season is a wash this year. This is one of those games where people will say that "Sharps are on Virginia". Well sharps don't watch a lot of college football. I'm a really happy square at -9.5.

    - Somebody explain to me why Maryland is almost a 2 TD favorite on the road at Duke. Anybody.

    - I would have capped the BSU/BYU game at a pick'em. Just sayin.

The week I get cocky like this is usually the week I get my balls blown out, so take this all for what it is.

True about Rice home field advantage or lack thereof. I should know...I live 2 minutes away. Quite a bit of wealthy neighbors and/or alumni usually show up to Rice games in October/November so not going to be empty...

Don't know which El Paso you went to but Houston-EP drive is minimum 10-12 hours, hardly a "painless bus ride".

UTEP is absolute trash (#122 or 123rd defense depending on site...) and could easily lose this game by 20-21 points.

best way to guess biggest line movement:

    1. away from key numbers. a game at 7 or 7.5 isnt likely to jump over 3 points in a direction. same can be said for 3.

    2. pick a smaller game. big games with big bets have alot of action. small games with big bets have even more movement.

    3. huge spreads tend to move more and each point has less value.

Because TCU has a great defense and Texas' offense is suspect and extremely inconsistent.
It'd be wise to discount the OU game as UT is not going to play that good again end of story.
Mack Brown' fate is sealed, the OU game merely provided an extension until the end of the season.

Ralphie, as far as the Boise St game goes, I think the line reflects the fact that Southwick is out, or at least he was last I looked.

Had that game at roughly -3.5, but -7 is about right without Southwick.

I have Rutgers as slight favorites, -9 has to be adjusting to the letdown aspect.

Pitt v Navy is a PK - IMO, slightly favoring Pitt obviously - but not close to a full TD better.

Just using raw numbers, Stanford is favored by 4 pts too many. Going to be a fun game.

Feel like Nevada is not getting enough respect. Should be favored by 10, IMO.

I always like WKU more than I should, and my numbers are skewed as a result, because I have WKU as close to two TD better than troy this week.

My numbers have Hawai'i as 6.5 dogs at home. Vs. CSU. I have a hard time believing that. Lean Hawai'i, but not significantly.

The Arizona game seems right number wise. I have Arizona as 21 point favorites over Colorado, but traveling to CU is probably worth 5 points with this Arizona team. QB is getting better each week, RB is trying to set records, Coach wont be the reason we lose, defense is improved enough to play tough. If you're betting CU, it's a backdoor cover scenario.

My pick for this contest is Florida Atlantic. Feel Auburn should be 3 TD favorites max.
