1st QB to be taken in the NFL draft?

A couple did themselves no favors today. Just off the top of my head Johnny 'i got a bobo' Minziel, Mettenburger(guy still struggels hitting backs - throws jjgold could make), Airerant(welcome to the 2nd round) Murray. That Baylor QB is throwing to men among boys but love his throws. Tex tech has a chuncker but seems wide open. Maybe we need a contest?

Flashy College QBs usually dont make it later on

Of those you mentioned Sammy would rather draft the Kid from Alabama... NOT saying he is a NFL starter but has a better chance than ^ those

Marcus Marietta is by far leaps and bounds ahead of the other qbs right now.. Kid can run and throw and has a cannon for a arm.. He reminds me of Russell Wilson and he will make some nfl squad very happy

Bridgewater, very obvious. I expect more coming from someone within the site.

    Mariota and Hundley.

Mariota on the Eagles would be a coup.

Tall kid, can make a lot of throws, will only get better, and can run with the best of them.

    Will still be Bridgewater

But I like Mariota, Hundley and Morris from the U as well

Think Manziel could be good if put in the right system/team

    Lots of good QBs actually

no lucks or rg3's in this draft. This is a sam bradford type qb draft. Fools gold. No qb worthy of the number one pick. No franchise changers. Good but not great qbs to choose from

Not the kid from Louisville. They're not done losing yet. Gonna hurt his stock. Probably Mariota. Followed by Manziel and Hundley.

Johnny Football did nothing wrong today. He got hurt leaving the ball at the 2 first an goal the got only 3. He came back not 100% but went 6-6 on the first td drive then the Def cant stop anything left Johnny Football only 1.18 sec to go 65 yd he got them close and on 3rd and 18 he gained 8 but got horse collard and it wasnt called. Thats what cost him the game if you watched the game the legend of Johnny Football only got bigger

Murray is the most NFL ready.

He measures up well against Matthew Stafford IMO, and is more intelligent, and we know where Stafford went in the draft.

Say what you want about the new breed of QB out there, if you want a guy 10 years from now to still be the heart and soul of your team, not to mention still upright, you want the heady pocket passer. Murray is it.

I'm not a draft guy this early in the season. This is just who I'd take if it were now.

Probably Bridgewater but it should be Mariota. Best combination of (NFL ready) skills of all of them.

Johnny Football would sell seats. LKid it was the opener A&M game vs LA Tech game last year that was postponed as I recall. A&M was a 7 point fav before folks figured out they were good. No idea what that has do with the conversation but carry on.

    Passer Efficiency Leaders - Qualified
RK PLAYER TEAM COMP ATT PCT YDS YDS/A LONG TD INT SACK RAT
    1 Bryce Petty, QB BAY 102 144 70.8 2023 14.0 93 15 1 3 221.8

    2 Jameis Winston, QB FSU 112 157 71.3 1885 12.0 94 20 3 11 210.4
    3 Teddy Bridgewater, QB LOU 154 214 72.0 2213 10.3 54 20 2 8 187.8
    4 Johnny Manziel, QB TA&M 159 217 73.3 2289 10.5 95 18 7 8 182.8
    5 Marcus Mariota, QB ORE 123 197 62.4 2051 10.4 75 19 0 8 181.7
    6 Zach Mettenberger, QB LSU 135 207 65.2 2164 10.5 52 16 5 14 173.7
    7 Sean Mannion, QB ORST 229 334 68.6 2992 9.0 55 29 3 9 170.7
    8 AJ McCarron, QB ALA 126 182 69.2 1587 8.7 51 14 3 7 164.6
    9 Brandon Connette, QB DUKE 76 118 64.4 1069 9.1 75 12 6 6 163.9
    10 Brendon Kay, QB CIN 118 165 71.5 1386 8.4 56 13 4 3 163.2

Mettenberger might be a good pick, he has NFL size and arm and is improving. But he takes a lot of sacks and not sure he can ever hit is second option or learn to throw it in a spot only his guy can make a play.

For an NFL team that has to draft a starter I kind of agree with the poster who suggested McCarron.

Johnny Football with right NFL team
He is very underrated, most exciting college qb f all times

NFL needs to stop falling in love with black qbs
They all look great and have unreal athletic ability but for the last 50 years and the next 50 years drop back passers win mainly white guys

    Stats don't lie

Oregon QB or Manziel clearly best 2 QB's in the nation

hundley had a chance to take over top spot but played poorly against stanford.

bridgewater stock dropped in the loss to ucf.

so mariota is #1 by default.

i cant say i watched ucf/louisville......and ive never been loving bridgewater as a #1 overall pick or some franchise changer.....but i dunno ...looking at the boxscore id say he performed fine.....nothing that would drop someones stock.....29-38 for 340 2tds and no picks......not his fault his defense couldnt do much.....if someone else watched the game and saw more tell me

Lol, I just typed in this box like a page and half about this issue and just deleted it.

Breaking down Hundley (the kid I'm most intrigued about) and a few others, but forget it.

You guys keep attempting to play GM's.

A loss to UCF drops TB stock

Does anybody even watch college football?

Walker thanks for the response and you are correct it was only 7, I believe they played like week 4/5 and actually caught them in a good spot and I believed La Tech covered via back door.
