Cleveland Browns are starting Brian Hoyer at Quarterback

vs. Minnesota Sunday. He is listed third on the depth chart and yet he gets the start over Jason Campbell. Line value has probably been sucked out though with Vikings going from -3.5 to -6 in rather short order.

Hoyer has one career NFL start for Arizona after carrying Tom Brady's clipboard for a few years before that. Campbell was actually an NFL starter for a time. Curious move, I am not sure what Hoyer adds, while Campbell is at least mobile.

You hear this and immediately think to pound the Vikings...except then you realize that they have the worst starting Qb in the league

Campbell is not the future QB for Cleveland and Weeden was in his boom or bust year with Cleveland. Why not give Hoyer a shot and see what he has? At least then the Browns will know whether they have 2 or 3 bums at QB on their roster

I understand why the line on the Vikings moved but why is the total still holding at 40.5?

I completely agree that a lot of value has been sucked out of the Minnesota line now up to 6. But how bad are the Browns on offense that Hoyer is now the QB? Ouch! I don't know a whole lot about him and am a little confused as to why they are not playing Campbell. Thought that's why they grabbed him. We will see on Sunday how everything plays out though.

    man campbell gets no respect.

not that i think he's any good but he is better than hoyer.

how quickly people forget he was the starter for the raiders when they were at least decent...

He has his shot with Wash and Oak. Time for someone else to get the shot at proving themselves.

Guys......things never seem to end well when bad QB's get thrown into bad situations!

Cleveland has had a heck of time protecting Weeden in the 1st two games......I guarantee Minnesota stacks the box all afternoon and put bodies all around Hoyer....at least until the secondary gets burned a few times!

Anyone would please tell why I shouldn´t put some money on the Vikes? They´ve scored 24 and 30 pts. in their first 2 games. And I think they did it against 2 teams better than Cleveland (Lions & Bears). This will be their home opener, and last season they won all but one game at Mall of America Field (week 8 vs. Tampa Bay)... And Cleveland is now starting the 3rd QB on the depht chart. I mean, if Hoyer puts his team in a better position to win, howcome he didn´t start since day 1? So please could any make a serious statement on why not to take Minnesota this weekend? Thnx.

Why because he is black? Campbell averages 14 rushing yards per game in his career. With that you also get some of the worst throwing mechanics in the league, the slowest release in the NFL, and a guy that holds onto the ball too long.

Jason Campbell was a starting QB in the NFL after the rules changes to promote passing.

2007 he had a whopping 12 TD passes in 13 starts
2008 he had 12 TD passes in 16 starts
    2009 he had 20 TD
    2010 he had 13 TD

He is famous for the horizontal offense. He sucks. He really F-ing sucks. We know he sucks. Brian Hoyer at least MIGHT be ok.

Jason Campbell also has no motivation at all.

3rd and 10, he throws a 2 yard dump off and the team punts. He doesn't give a shit, he was 1/1 on the play with 2 passing yards. He's quiet, he's stupid, he thinks slow, he looks stupid, he doesn't make anybody around him better. He is not an NFL starting QB.

All true but still think he gives them a better shot to win, Cleveland has an awesome defense and Campbell at least will protect the ball
