Live in MA - it's only a 50 minute drive for me. Use to go once in a while to the place years ago when it was just a greyhound track. Nice prelude before hitting the strip clubs in Providence.

They added table games there a few months ago. Heard the blackjack rules are same as CT and it sounds worth a shot!

I live 5 mins from Twin River.. Go there everyday.. but to play horses, not table games anymore though. Tables are full.. The scum of the scum from Woonsocket are there, and its just a scummy place.

I hate going to the place, but I bet the horses and its the best place to go around here.. unless I wanna drive 50 minutes to Foxwoods.

Once they start offering poker, I will be there even more... but the table games are shit compared to Foxwoods. Can't even get a seat some days.

Its just like any other one pretty much... except it sucks that its closed Sundays and Tuesdays. Tuesday I get because its the slowest day, but Sundays are surprising.

Its definitely made for east coast tracks though.. I've never seen Los Alamitos offered, probably because they dont end til 1am EST. Also, for some odd reason they dont offer Lousiana Downs, which sucks because LD has some huge carryovers sometimes. Other then that though, no complaints at all. LOVE that they have machines so I don't have to talk to the CS everytime I wanna place a bet.. very convenient and small lines since the older people dont like using the machines.

JJ no reason to drive by the ct. casino's to go there. richard george gave the racebook a B. it is D+ on it's best day which is never. horrible seating area with bad and broken individual tv's. overhead ones are old and faded. all the tellers if you dare to go to them have a median age of 84. self-serve machines of which they are few are quite serviceable however. forget about concessions. overpriced johnny rockets is about it. have to get programs and forms out of a vending machine. lowest grade clientele frequent the place, most standing against a wall to watch old small tv's. as far as the live dealer table games go, you would be lucky to get a seat since they don't have many tables yet. back to the simulcasting, some tracks have shut them off for failing to pay their settlement sheet. very uncomfortable place to gamble at, or get into from parking lot..

When did I give them a b? Lol The only reason I go there is cause of location..

And obviously Foxwoods and Mohegan racebooks are on a whole nother level.

Having said all that.. I would go to twin river anyday over plainville.. What a dump that is!

assumed the B. due to your glowing appraisal of short lines (untrue) and many self serve machines (maybe 5 that work) plus for you is short distance to get there. don't understand why you denigrate plainville. the live racing is abysmal and totally avoidable but the upstairs simulcasting parlor is difficult to fault. not crowded, comfortable seating, individual tv's that work, many machines if you don't use tellers. many more tracks offered than twin river dump. incredibly easy access from parking lot. food is iffy but overall place is far superior to any other new england place which is now down to decaying rockingham, impossible to get to suffolk, and scarboro downs in maine.(avoid) the ct. casino's have no worry.

Are you really complaining about parking at Twin River?

You go all the way to the back entrance.. go up 2 floors of stairs.. and its right there. Are we really talking about the same place? I'll make a video later to show you that I can go from parking to the racetrack in 2 minutes.

no, don't. not the worst parking situation admittedly, but you still have to wade through a room of slot machines, open a heavy door, go up a ramp, takes longer than 2 minutes to get settled and get your bearings. but, yes the parking is the best feature of that place.

Well I tried visiting Twin River today - did not go well.

Waited forever in the valet line, finally get in and found out they wouldn't take a bank check for gaming funds. They offered me a steak dinner to come back another time - might take them up on that.

Headed south to Foxwoods after that - had a super day. Staying overnight comped too
