Honestly, Mack Brown should be fired on the spot if they lose this game.

Gee they can't arm tackle these guys. Maybe keep trying. I'm sure eventually they will just fall down.

    Congrats BYU backers.

Over 400 yds to BYU's offense in the first half.

Hey Texas, here's a fukkin' hint. They are going to run at you!

Might pound BYU 2nd half. This is a joke.

I really thought BYU would be one dimensional. I was right. I thought Texas would be able to stop that dimension. Boy was I wrong and I'm paying out the ass.

That roughing the punter was a huge momentum for BYU. I never understand why you run into a guy without getting to the ball???

BYU quarterback Taysom Hill completed 13-of-40 passes (YIKES!) vs. Virginia. A one-dimensional rushing attack won't help BYU if Texas opens up a lead.

Unless they break Hill's leg, they are fukked.

Texas can't run anything to the right side and they won't have the T.O.P. They can pick apart BYU's secondary if they had time. Backs aren't chipping and nobody can block on their O-line.

It's amazing how big coaching is in college football. Lane Kiffin and Mak Brown have all the talent in the world and yet they don't do shit with it. Pack your bags Mak!

When the coaching staff refuses to make adjustments this is what happens, especially so, when most of the yardage was coming off of one particular play.

Mack Brown and his defensive coaches looked totally lost when they were arguing on the sidelines. All of this talent is not responding to the coaching staff. This reminds me a lot of Phillip Fulmer right before he was banished from Tennessee.

I think BYU has over 650 total yards. And there's still 9 minutes to go in the game. I keep thinking that can't be right. This is an ass whipping.

and why is Ash running every play. He's hurt now. Unreal.

Texas should fire both their football and basketball coaches

They each get the best talent in the biggest state and do nothing with it

    Those guys suck

That was a pathetic excuse of a football game that exposed many of the things that I thought had been fixed about Texas this year, but which SBR_John was completely correct about.

    1. The coaches are terrible in-game coaches. Mack and Iaz(no D there) clearly suck at making in game adjustments, as this has repeatedly been the case in the past few years.

    2. I think the coaching is soft, and this trickles down to the players. Texas doesn't tackle like those guys in the SEC - when they aren't getting beat because they aren't in the right position to make plays (bad playcalling), they're going for arm tackles and missing.

    3. David Ash still has no confidence when his team is down, and is clearly not the caliber of QB that Texas should be starting, when they could've easily recruited someone like Johnny Manziel or that FSU kid. I thought last week he had finally gotten over this problem after throwing 2 picks and then coming back, but BYU's pressure made him repeatedly make some bad decisions/throws tonight. Luckily he didn't turn the ball over, but still didn't show the kind of drive that would allow Texas to mount a comeback.

    4. It all starts with the coaches, but there's no real leadership on defense. Texas D-line didn't even know where to line up at one point in the game. That means the players aren't getting coached well enough or no one on defense has the proper football IQ to make the correct on-sight adjustments when being shown something that they're not prepared for.

People have been calling for Mack's head for a long time. This is close to the tipping point, and if Texas gets blown out by the Sooners again this year he'll be gone even if he wins the 9 other games in the season.

    From the Dallas Morning News:

Texas fell to BYU 40-21 on Saturday night, allowing a school record 550 rushing yards. Here are some quotes to note from the Longhorn players and coaches following the game.

Mack Brown on the team’s performance: “I didn’t think our coaches and out players lived up to what we needed to win tonight, including me.”
Brown on what he told his team following the game: “I’m disappointed in them, disappointed us. We didn’t stop the run, couldn’t make third and fourth and short, and that’s the story of the game. I told them exactly what I told you.”
Brown on whether Manny Diaz will coach the defense next week: “I haven’t even gotten out of the game…. I’d like to watch the video.”
Cornerback Quandre Diggs on Diaz: “We all believe in Coach Diaz. He put us in the right spots to make plays. We don’t make plays, can’t blame everything on him.”
Major Applewhite on failing to convert on short yardage situations: “It’s football 101, if you find yourself in third and short and fourth and short you need to go out and convert those.”
Mack on roughing the punter call making a difference: “ If you’re being aggressive you have to step up and stop them after that. Good teams respond, and we didn’t respond tonight.”

they need to clean house at texas. david ash (who blows) goes down, and i text my cousin, who has texas -7.5..."is it case mccoy time?" as a joke, thinking for sure...FOR FUKKING SURE...there was some other semi-retarded hump they would put out there at qb. but no...it's case mccoy time! after they realized now-smu great garrett gilbert wasn't the guy for the job, it's STILL THESE SAME TWO BUTTFUKKS playing quarterback! IT'S TEXAS!!! THEY GENETICALLY ENGINEER QUARTERBACKS EVERY DAY IN THIS STATE!!!! seriously, if i am a texas fan, i'm about as mad as can possibly be that mack brown and all these clowns are still there. they could have jameis winston for christ's sake. it's unbelievable how brown is still there. and after muschamp left any semblance of defense went with him as well. what's amazing is media types still pick texas to win the big 12. they are awful. awful.
