another upset here ? doubtful. serena aint a headcase like murray.
she has the better serve, more consistent and is 8-1 head to head against Li.
the last meeting was a couple of weeks back in cincinnati where williams won 7-5, 7-5.

the ML on Li is so damn tempting at +520. but even with a new coach Li has not been able to beat Serena. Arthur Ashe will most likely feature Azarenka and Williams in the women's final. and aza has shown she has all the weapons to beat williams.

Li is good, williams just a little bit better in everything. games are similar though. but if Li can execute her game, play aggressive and force williams to the net i think she has a shot.

still maybe its the books scaring me off but that +520 is too intimidating . but because of that we have a nice handicap for Li. i am hammering that . 15 units on Na Li for me(my unit size is 50 bucks). this is a huge bet for me as i usually only bet 50-150 bucks on any sport. this is the biggest bet for me all year and i thought i'd just share it with the forum.

i dont usually post my picks but i have made quite a bit off of Li this season. and im going big (at least for me) on this one. she has not let me down, especially on the handicap.

lots of asian support in NY as i have sat at Arthur Ashe Stadium many times. best tickets i got were for the men's semifinals.

this i suspect will be an intense match either going 3 sets or at least to a tiebreak.
im not going to suggest you take the moneyline because i am not betting it.
if you have a freeplay or something i would throw it on Li to win outright though.

li is in her last years of play too unless she wants to play like kimiko until her 40s. either way she is just as driven. i do agree i dont see williams losing but i do see this being a close match .

Personally think most of the lines for the WTA today are pretty spot on without much in the way of an edge. Pennetta likely to succumb to first timer's syndrome although Vika has to step her game up even more.

Li Na did look good out there, but she has not faced a hard hitter yet. Serena should also be able to pick on Na's serve. The line seems to be about right to me.

Williams -1.5 sets is the better bet.

Li might make it close and make it a 7-5 6-4 type sets but she just cant match Serena's consistency throughout a match to take a set. The only person that isnt afraid of playing Serena is Azarenka. Even after all these years playing Serena, Li is still intimidated by Williams.

Li won't see many break points off Williams serve today. Williams has a very low ball toss and wont be affected by the wind much today. Li Na has a very high toss and her serving might be affected today by the gusting wind on Arthur Ashe stadium at the moment. Almost every Li serve game will be vulnerable for breaking by Williams return.

what a horrible first semi final. all i need is a hard fought close second semi. can li na win ? serena is playing above and beyond and MDF has a good point about the ball toss and wind. li na must just go for it , even if it falls out she must try and paint the lines. i think she can break serena at least once or twice. i believe she has justine henin's old coach right ? hopefully he advises her accordingly.
