    Nothing wrong with it.......Division is locked up and Volquez still has potential to be a solid arm maybe even in bullpen duties for the playoffs if he performs well this month.

    at this point they have the division locked up

    it is important to keep their arms fresh and let Volquez eat some innings. it doesnt matter if they lose.

    the reward is greater because maybe he discovers something during his change of sceneary, or maybe the pitching coach thought they saw something with his mechanics that would be easily correctable.

    maybe he is there to keep Puig in his place

    Volquez used to be a good pitcher, as others have mentioned he is there to eat up innings and at the same time he is a project just like Marmol is. also rosters are expanded now and he could end up being some kind of reliever (or just an extra arm in case of emergency).

    i hate volquez but how can you pass up the dodgers when they are +125 or better?

    mattingly will just pull him after he gives up 4-5 runs and since the rockies' bullpen is garbage, the dodgers can make up that deficit.

    maybe volquez might give la some value in his starts...

    Much like Marmol, Honeycutt and staff found a mechanical flaw in his delivery as he was tipping pitches.

    Like people stated above, its merely an innings eater to keep the staff fresh for playoffs.
