It's like saying Tom Brady sucks because he's not a good Running back. The NFL is a business full of hundreds of me me me personalities revolving doors and self interest for the $$. College football is a business off the field, but the on the field product is able to be crafted and a system put in place from scratch with total control. That is where Saban excels. It's undeniable. He was given total control of the program and it's amazing what he has built. The players and school admin bought in and its paid off. That can't be done in the NFL and so he was smart to leave. Hate on him all you want from a fan or trash talking standpoint but the facts remain, the NFL LOVES his kids coming out of college because the man knows how to coach up a team and mold them into future stars....its a factory.

saban did not quit after 10 weeks in the nfl.

anyways, most coaches are like this, nothing really that unusual, nice of him to befriend the marbury guy.

    He was awful at MSU.

I remember when they were leading Purdue by like 11 with 2 minutes left in '98 or so and somehow loss.

MSU meltdowns were a regular occurrence under Saban. Guy didn't know what to do in pressure situations if/when he didn't have superior players.

Nicky followed the $$$ from Miami --> Bama. Guy is making waaaay more now then he ever would have in Miami (even LSU)

Nicky already has his lofty place in the history of College Coaches... Just a season away from being on the undisputed TOP of all-time , #1

"Envy and hate" for what? I posted the article because it was a good read and I admire what he's accomplished as long as he has superior talent.

Just pointing out a fact. Until his last season at MSU, his tenure there was a trainwreck filled with late-game meltdowns.

When you lose as many talented linemen as they did, that's not exactly going out on a limb.

Then again, going out on a limb has never been your specialty. If there's chalk to be eaten, you always open wide.

So you're saying because he started off slow and progressed over a decade and a half into one of the most dominant forces in coaching he is a loser? I remember when Saban took over in T Town, was at the UL Monroe game when the Tide lost at Bryant Denny to them in his opening stint....it's called evolving. Could Peyton Manning or Terry Bradshaw have have performed at their peak in their first years in the league? Nope, they grew and learned to be that good. Can you take Saban and have him coach Kentucky's football team this year and have them run the table? On same context could you insert Mike Leach in at Bama last month and expect him to run Bama's program? Nope.

I take coaches like Pete Carroll and Jimmy Johnson over Saban any day, they won national championships in college, Jimmy didnt quit he won 3 super bowls in the NFL, the Seahawks are a super bowl contender under Petes leadership, Saban just quit on the Dolphins after 10 weeks, Saban just wasnt good enough for the NFL and the players didnt respect him, fuking duchebag

Most professionally successful people/coaches aren't normal.
