Did you hear the one where Harrah's Joliet sent out 10,000 $525 comp coupons by mistake and the state of Illinois demands they make good on them according to law. They were intended to be $22 coupons I believe and the printer messed up.Can you imagine people getting these coupons thinking they were some gimick match play funny money deal and throwing them away.Alot of times the husband and wife each get one so alot of people threw away over $1000.

#2Very interesting, do you have a link to an article on it? I would be interested in reading more. Certainly no sportsbook would do the same thing, and I wouldn't ask them too. But when you have regulation like this gaming groups are held to a different standard.Comment -

Coupon Misprint Costs Casino Millions
November 21, 2005 12:30 p.m. EST
Christina Ficara - All Headline News Staff Reporter
Joliet, IL (AHN) - A misprint has gamblers in an uproar, while an Illinois casino may have to give a multi-million dollar hand-out.
Harrah's Joliet Casino is paying dearly for a misprint on about 11,000 coupons mailed to customers last week.
Instead of being worth $15 or $20 apiece, each had a face value of $525 in cash. The company is blaming the error on a third-party vendor.
Dozens of gamblers crowded Harrah's customer service desk on Friday, angered by the casino's refusal to redeem the coupons. Customers were encouraged to trade the coupons for reward points. Some did, but others decided to keep the paper coupon.
The Illinois Gaming Board ruled that Harrah's must honor the coupons, making the company liable for as much as $5.8 million.Comment -

sarcasium of course raiders. but you guys can't need that revenue that bad. because, IL just give them a big ole tax break to all the casinos thru out the state. so, they can afford to pay it.Comment -

#9I'll bet that at least 75% of the people threw the coupons away thinking it was some kind of scam or that there was small print. I would hate to be one of those people now.Comment
