SBR PRO renewal - what am i missing?

if i log in every day i get 12 pts per day = 4380 points over the course of a year.

$100 worth of gift certificates at the SBR STORE cost me 3000 points
so i can get $146 worth of purchases at the store.

pro renewal is $200 cash contribution = 6000 points = it costs me $54 to be a part of the pro program.
    OR
$200 fantasy sports deposit = 6000 points = it costs me $54 to be a part of the pro program.
    OR
    3000 points = $100 i net $46 IF i log in every single day.

so if i log in every day of the year without missing a single day after renewal i will net = about $46. or choosing the other two options i it will COST ME $54 to be a part of the PRO program.

unless i am missing something i am not renewing and cashing out.

is that what SBR wants - are they trying to end the pro program? they already have all your info on the initial
enrollment - is this just a way to end the PRO PROGRAM without saying so.

if i am missing something someone let me know.

That's what happens when your not the biggest betting forum on the net anymore tying in with the fact they want more euro members instead of the high amount of US members on here who don't get them as good as affiliate $$

You're forgetting the fact that you can make money off of that fantasy pro renewal. It's not like you're throwing $200 away. Also it's your choice to buy gc's. Others buy pizzas and make out well ahead.

$54 dollars for 365 days. It costs you 15 cents a day to be a pro. What will you do with the 15 cents you will be saving every day by not being a pro?

Nine replies and not one commenting on the fact that your grass becomes greener, water tastes better, and you become a better lover.

In all seriousness, Pro access pays for itself, you excluded the points generated from trivia, contests (must be "Pro" to really capitalize), the fact that thousands of dollars (BTP, bowl contest, etc), as well as poker contests require you to be Pro once you cross the finish line, unrestricted store access per your country, etc. Non-pros only get to keep up to 3K when they turn Pro. No limits on Pro balances.

But, as to your original argument, if someone wants to come in, not participate in the network other than collect daily points some days, or engage himself at all in the community or its offerings like the aforementioned, then I'm not sure that person would really enjoy being on the sites in the first place.

    Shari,

It might even be better if they added a few more contests for more free plays to get more new people to come here. Maybe even a horse racing contest like Derby Wars tourney style. Ways to make the site better will help get more on board and maybe even another sponsor out of it too.

The difficult thing with that is getting books to sponsor contests. It took me 2+ years of running 4 contests per year for each Slam before books were willing to step up. I had to prove the format never changed, I was consistent with administering it, etc. They're very particular about what they want to sponsor, however SBR is always willing to entertain suggestions about contests and even sponsors some with freeplays on their own but it'll usually take a poster starting one and then contacting a member of staff. If you have an idea for a format that will reach out to people outside of that subforum please PM SBR Forum

Where else can you log on for 5 seconds every day and make money?

Yes. you will make 46.00 a year, but that's NOT the point,is it?

How much do you want to make here?

Thats BEFORE BTP ,(more free money), trivia, (more free money) and believe it or not, you can actually get solid info in here if you know where to look.

Plenty of nonsense as well but sometimes it is so absurd, it's actually funny.

I do think you are missing something but that's just me.

    Good luck either way.

Win enough in the sportsbook or poker, much less contests and trivia, you'll easily cover the cost + some. If you don't participate in any of the above why be pro in the first place? And no reason to log in every day, just don't sign out. Still get your points. I'm US and I'll happily cash in for $50 gift cards all day long.

Don't forget all those SBR posters that bet with points. Never actual money.

Most importantly it slows down ghosts and cheaters...

You should let people renew pro status by posting a video of themselves to validate who they are. These shut-ins will then gladly pay the 3000 points to avoid embarrassment....

hundreds Of times Ive encouraged everyone to become SBr PRO and even telling them Id send them 1000 points if they do this month.

THE last store increases did take some ZIP off as it seems more and more and more that will happen with no warning......still its OBVIOUS to become SBR PRO, with strong effort you can often get to whatever point level you desire set a goal for an IPAD or a big pizza party. get involved with the forum, get to know members as well. and support the sponsors (at least the few good books that are here)..

Go complain to yahoo and google while you are at it for not giving you enough back per year to use them. The thing is, if you come here to browse the threads anyway... it doesn't make any sense not to be Pro. The points/store concept is pretty amazing if you think about it. Yeah, it's not as good as it used to be... but for obvious reasons that makes sense.

It's in nobody's interest for that to all go away. So I'm sure plenty is being done behind the scenes to insure that things stay valuable. IF the store/points system ever disappears, come complain then. No reason to bitch about it until then. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Thanks Shari for the information you given me here. I would advise you to talk with the others about some of the horse racing fantasy sites that has come up and see if you can get some of them on board as you have with the sports ones. I hope that you can get help from some of those as being new sponsors. Again I thank you for your response in this matter.

the store options right now are horrendous-amazon gift card is gone, ditto for target and the ********** options as well

when I became a PRO, it was because I did business with one of the sponsored sportsbooks-much more beneficial to SBR and their affiliates than to me.

I doubt I'll be renewing simply because of the options in the store (I live in New Jersey and wouldn't be caught dead with a "pizza" from Dominoes)

Your log in gets you ahead you have contest, poker, trivia yeah its not what it used to be ...but hey times get tough...who in this country doesnt know thatMaybe when things go legal SBR will rise up again there will be a lot of books competing for business. I see Walmart cards are back so free gas or food there I use them for gasnice work SBR
