    Felix Hernandez vs Kershaw ......

If you had to choose 1 of these two to be a number 1 in your rotation, who would you rather have?

    kershaw 25 yr old lefty

    hernandez 27 year old righty

    give me the king!

oh and big bear your opinion doesn't matter because you're clueless about this sport

this was previously discussed as well and if I remember correctly Kershaw was the unanimous choice because he is younger.

Kerfax is the best pitcher i've seen in a very long time. I think he's gonna be an all timer when its all said n done. I love this guy, his games are the only west coast games i'll stay awake to watch.

Felix also had to deal with 150 games where his team scored 2 or less runs in that game .. That's horrible

Bro.... We already discussed this kershaw gets far less run support per game than felix does.

Here's the thing that sucks about Felix..

I'm a NL guy and he plays for Seattle. What that pretty much means is that I NEVER get to see this guy pitch. Outside looking at stats or hearing what ESPN or the internet tells me, I have no real idea how good of pitcher he is because he plays for Seattle and his games are never on. What a shame.

AL and NL different leagues. Been proven by over and over by pitchers who come from NL to AL. Much more success in NL

I still take Kershaw, but imagine Felix pitching in the NL...wow!

at this point ts Kershaw, not only is he younger but he has far less innings pitched. Pitcher aging curves are less dependent on age and more so on innings thrown as opposed to batter which are more based on age. So despite being only two years younger he thrown over 700 less professional innings.

Felix has already shown the loss of fastball velocity all pitchers see, it fallen about 1mph each of the last 3 years, and Kershaw has yet to see any, his is the same as it was 4 years ago. A fact that can be read both ways as Felix has gotten better despite the loss of velocity and there is no way to know how kershaw will adapt to that.

    Lets me say this

Until this year Seattle was the most pitcher friendly park in baseball.

Even with the DH hitting instead of the pitcher ...

It would have been tougher for King Felix to put up the same numbers if he played for the Reds or Rockies..

b/c facing a teams 1-5 hitters would have been more difficult.

However nothing against King Felix.. he is a great pitcher and he used to be a lot better.

Its crazy to say but at 27 he is past his prime. He no longer has an over powering fastball but he has a great curve and split.

Kershaw though is better by a very wide margin.

The Rangers OWN Hernandez. It's uncanny. The guy just goes to hell everytime he faces Texas.
