    El Niņo's Degen WNBA Play of the Day Part 2

    Another slow day on the cards and I sweated out a winner by the hook with the Under yesterday in the Shock/Storm game. A good win for those who tailed. Here is another WNBA total play on a short betting card.

    UNDER 172 (-110) BookMaker Phoenix Mercury/Los Angeles Sparks 10PMEST

    The total opened at 173 @ 5Dimes and 173.5 @ BookMaker and has been bet down at both books. As I type this, the total is 171.5 (-110) @ 5Dimes.

    Phoenix actually averages 84.1 points/game on the road this year, just slightly better than their 2nd ranked average of 83.9 pts/game this season overall. However, Phoenix has averaged 79.6 pts in their last 5 games. Phoenix will be without centers Brittney Griner (14.9 pts/game this season) and Lynetta Kizer who are both listed as doubtful. Krystal Thomas will be the only center available. Thomas scored 6 pts. in the previous game against Los Angeles (7/14). However, she averages just 1.7 pts./game in 15 games this season. This should make it difficult for Phoenix to get inside and LA will force Phoenix to shoot perimeter jump shots. LA is 5th in the WNBA allowing an average of 74.9 pts/game. In the 3 games that Griner has not played for Phoenix this season, the team averages 79.3 pts/game. The UNDER is 5-3 in Phoenix's 8 road games so far this season. The UNDER is 3-2 in Phoenix's last 5 games.

    Los Angeles is 1st in the WNBA averaging 85.8 pts/game and average 87.9 pts/game at home. Los Angeles has averaged 89.8pts/game in their last 5 games. The UNDER is 7-2 in LA's 9 home games so far this season. The UNDER is 3-2 in LA's last 5 games.

    These teams have met twice this season (both in Phoenix) with the most recent game (7/14) going UNDER and a game played on 6/14 that went OVER.

    Los Angeles has been a power house at home for over a year now winning 19 consecutive regular season games. LA will get their points and the 11.5 pt spread suggests a potential blowout. However, LA is coming off back to back games so they could be on tired legs come the 4th quarter. Even if LA gets their 90 pts. I see Phoenix continuing with their 76-79ish team total.

    The New York Liberty are closing out a 4 game home stand against the Chicago Sky. New York is 1-2 straight up and 1-2 ATS in their last 3 home games. New York has averaged a mere 61 pts/game in these last 3 games.     griner being out actually helps the over imo they'll make her points up but from a defensive standpoint that chick is a defensive difference maker to say the least. good luck i'll be on a 2nd half total.

    It's possible. The points won't be made up by the center position for Phoenix though. LA will be able to focus on Taurasi and Bonner or Dupree will have to step up. Even with Griner, Phoenix gives up the most points in the WNBA. Defensively they are pretty terrible. I will see how it looks after the 1st half. Always bail out or hedge options at half time depending on how the game is going. Good luck.

    anybody watching the sky game? what the hell are they doing to the liberty that they cant score over 14 a qtr? Im missing the greatest defensive effort ever or the liberty just cant shoot?

    If I liked a side don't you think I'd have played it rather than cap the game for an hour and waste my time doing a write up? Common, pal. Griner has been out the last 2 games with a knee injury and yesterday she was downgraded to doubtful for tonight's game on every injury report on the net. Laying 12 on a back to back seems a little much. LA is 1-1 straight up and 1-1 ATS on the 2nd game of a back to back this season.

    after a battle last night they're getting a blowout spread again? i'm not buying it. mercury +12 and i have a 175 point freeplay on their moneyline, +750. i don't mind griner being out, hell they didn't start winning until she got injured the first time. phoenix is a great team to exploit any tired legs the sparks may be feeling.

    Atlanta plays tough D for sure, hoping they took a lot out of LA. Should be a much different style of game tonight as Phoenix plays zero defense. Hoping they bring it a little at least. Going against a 19 game home winning streak isn't for me, but I see your angle. I'll take a Phoenix 88-80 win BOL, pal.

    and i wish you luck on the under. it's hard to call a mercury under, honestly, but i have lost on a couple of mercury overs this year. i kinda have a feeling tonight the sparks will shit the bed, and the under will hit and the mercury will take this one.

    under looking good at the half, especially considering merc had their highest scoring quarter of the season. sparks running on fumes, no legs in any of their shots.
