    Worst contract in MLB......

I know it's always been just standard the last few years to say its ARod's deal, and I have been a Pujols apologist.....but I'll be damned if this Pujols contract isn't historically viewed as worse than ARod's eventually.

His foot will heal, and he will be closer to the Old Albert than he will be this current Albert, but Christ almighty...8 more years? He's breaking down now!

What contract is worse? Arod? Albert?

How about Ryan Howard's? That thing looks ugly now too.

Joe Mauers is starting to look a little better, but the twins would love to have that decision back as well.

zito has to be in the top five. A rod if you consider all the drama he brings has to be worse than Albert

and i just looked...he doesnt have enough pa's to qualify for the leaders (which tells you plenty to begin with) but if he did he would be #147 in OPS

I have no defense for leaving out Vernon Wells

Arod at least helped (he was a one man wrecking crew throughout some of those playoff games) win a WS

Kemp is still considered a pretty damn young dude

Hamilton's contract is still only 3 months old.

I think Barry Zito's contract certainly belongs in the conversation

Johan Santana 6 years 137.5 mil. Thats around 23 mil./year for a guy who has done nothing besides pitching a no hitter. About to miss his 2nd full season in those 6 years and he might never pitch again.

yeah add Jason Bay to that for the mets.

    but seriously

Derek Bell, Pat Meares, Jason Kendall, Kevin Young, Matt Morris those 5 contracts and a couple more are a HUGE reason it has taken so long for the Pirates with their miserly owners to turn into a winner. they have a great window ahead of them but with draft and international signing bonuses capped now. It might be a 4-7 year window that closes and back to 20 consecutive losing seasons in the future.

Look at all the money the Yankees spend every year...

when is the last time the Yankees won the world series?

If it wasnt for Zito ... the Giants would not have won the World Series last year..

All that money they spent on Zito was worth it since they won the world series last season
( which is the ultimate goal when owners hand out millions)
