^^ Note that Houston isn't like in the top 20 or top 10 or top 5 on these lists. Houston is #1 on ALL OF THEM. When have you ever seen that with any city? Houston is the shit.

Mac sharp as a pitch fork wielded by 1670's pilgrims trying to burn witches. Houston is the shit. Business booming, where people are getting laid off left and right, I've never been making more $.

Shaq is paid to say interesting and controversial things. That being said Houston is literally one of the biggest shitholes in the US.

I went to Houston once. I'd rather be stuck on the 405 in rush hour traffic every day of the week.

shaq should really shut the fugk up..

Dwight is leaving Kobe just like he did... he did not stand up to Kobe, when it was SHAQ's OWn TEAM..!

the dude let's a little 23 yr old chase you away?? when you won 3 FINALS MVPs...

who is the damn wuss then...?

Kobe makes things intolerable for EVERYONE..

this is about Shaq not being good-looking like Dwight... Dwight is in phenominal shape..
Shaq is an awesome player but physically he is the THING from the Fantastic Four.

he has a problem with Dwight popularity with women. So he plays the 'Rings' card.. or the 'Spotlight' card now..

    it's all catty bitch bullshyt*

the thing about houston is that the people could care less about the bright lights and all that, they know its a biz and basketball is nowhere near the hot thing to do...nice people, good economy, howard can work and not have to worry about much else...Dwight Coward? lol this is a business decision, so calm down kids, everything will be ok...LA fans are starting to sound like Cleveland fans

I'm glad he left but to call it a business decision is pretty funny. This was an emotional decision made by a guy with a fragile ego. He left 30mil on the table and has a history of serious injury. He might get another max deal, but if I were running a business, I would have taken the Laker deal. Too many chances for catastrophic injury.

Bottom line... Howard didn't want to play with Kobe. Who the hell has ever wanted to hang out with Kobe? I like him as a basketball player but Kobe hasn't gotten along with anyone since HS. He has no friends. Players hated him when he first entered the league, his own hometown of Philly booed him every chance they get. Kobe off the court is an asshole that pisses people off. He has a history of not being a very likable guy. He took his own momma to court for God sake...

maybe houston is a better place for a guy with a fragile ego? Its not unheard of for people to turn down job offers for less money to be more "comfortable"...

....of course people outside of houston might be so desperate for a job that they wouldnt know what having options feels like lol

I hear ya, Im all for innovation, But anyone making money now in oil will have money for the rest of their lives...nobody is worried about when it will run out because it will not be in our lifetime...I know every empire hinges on natural resources and oil will run out and houstons economy will change....BUT...no one(from the present time) will be around...so who cares..

By the time Oil runs out or gets replaced, we will all be pushing up daisies.

FYI - Colorado's Piceance Basin contains the most concentrated hydrocarbon deposits on earth. There's more oil in Colorado shale then 4 times the amount of all of the Persian Gulf.

but just you keep holding your breath for Texas' economic demise.

The stupidity of this site's members keeps reaching all time highs.

How do you expect Colorado to get the oil out of the ground? Osmosis? Where do you think all the Unconventionals, Geology, Petrophysics, Drilling and Completions technology come from??? Houston my uneducated friend. All the Oil technology is in Houston. All the major oil companies, all the service companies and third party vendors. It's all Houston. You want oil from Nigeria? How about Alaska? What about Fort McMurray in Calgary Canada? Where do you think the engineers on expat assignments are from? Houston. Where's the drill bits, subsea equipment, umbilicals, risers, etc., etc. It all comes from Houston. The innovation, the scientists, the engineers, the safety personnel, the workers on rotation? All from Houston.

You do realize that Chevron is headquartered in CA. And Occidental. So pretty much no. All of the technology is not located in Houston. But you just keep taking credit for Colorado's oil pal. I'll be at the beach that doesn't have a massive oil spill lingering on it.

Haha, you keep showing your ignorance with each post. Chevron was originally Pacific Coast oil then became Standard Oil of California. It's always had a California presence. It's considered a California company built on California Oil BUT why do you think they moved all their Upstream business (where the money is made) to Houston? Chevron has only about 6,500 employees in downstream manufacturing (losing money) left in California. Chevron in Houston has close to 10,000 employees already. All of Chevron's technology and future is in Houston. 90% of Chevron's investment portfolio is in Upstream projects. What does that tell you? Hello?

    http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?sec...bay&id=8928858
    http://www.careerbuilder.com/Jobs/Co...mical-Company/

Ironically, Chevron and ConocoPhilips formed a partnership in Houston that has just as much employees as Chevron has in San Ramon.
    http://www.careerbuilder.com/Jobs/Co...mical-Company/

If you don't see the rats scurrying off the sinking ship, I don't know what to tell you.

    Valero refinery for sale... http://www.examiner.com/article/vale...ale-california

I don't even have the time to show you how companies are leaving by the hundreds from California to Texas. It is a huge exodus that you have to be blind to not see. I left Cali 10 years ago. I'm in the oil business. I work with all the oil companies and I know where the bread is buttered.

BTW - I use to live right on the beach in Marina Del Rey. The Pacific Ocean is cold as fuk, darker than the dead sea with rip tides that murk up the water. You couldn't even tell if a great White is swimming right next to you because it's so dam dark. If you want a real beach head over to the Carribbean which is where I'm headed in a few hours.

Never seen so many butthurt Californians in my life. It's hilarious, they are so mad and furious like a mad ex-girlfriend.

Lakers are going to be shitty for the next 5 years, and the city will have no pro football team to fall back on. What a shit hole of a town that will be.

While we (Houston) have a solid Nba team and Nfl team to be excited about the next 5 years. Business is booming down here in Houston with the oil industry and all other jobs. We have NASA down here..which I proudly live 1 mile away on Bay Area Blvd. I say things are looking bright for us down here.

LA could suck a coc*. I'm glad Dwight left that shit hole of a team and Kobe. Lmao@ Kobe unfollowed Dwight on Twitter when Dwight announced he was signing with Houston. Lmao..what is Kobe? A 16 year old high school girl? I've never seen a whole city and its fans as butt hurt as LA is right now. It's so fu*king hilarious.

Keep up the hating guys while Houston continues to prosper. Oh and that fat ape Shaq is mad because his daddy The Dream from Houston swept him in the Finals.
