Ah a kneejerk reaction that the GM has to do. He can not just keep on getting coaches fired.

Medocrity gets the same result as a woeful team...you will get fired.

A roll of the dice but Pistons should make 7th or 8th seed next year so Dumars keeps his job under rebuilding v2.0

Jsmooth thought he was a max player. Probably could have gotten that money from a contender. Jsmooth doesn't make the pistons any better. Bad for both parties involved. A real life whodunit.

Pistons can't get anything right. Reports are that the Pistons expect to make Rasheed Wallace an assistant coach.

Can this franchise do anything right?

    Now that is embarrassing.

This Smith deal was bad enough, but Rasheed as an assistant coach? Wow.

4 of their losses were to the best teams in the league basically. They need to win at least 1 or 2 of them but shit happens. If they end up under .500 for the season then I see why peeps hated Smith and Jennings. Even better they could tank and end up with Parker, Randle, or Wiggins.

They have enough "talent" and the Eastern Conference is mediocre enough that they could and probably should still sneak into the playoffs with a No. 7 or 8 seed. In other words, they aren't even close enough to be a serious contender, but also not bad enough to get a high draft choice.

    Again, find the post.

FTR, scraping by as the No. 7 or 8 seed in the East with this frontcourt is no accomplishment. Then again, I wouldn't expect you to understand, well, anything.

i.e., make a false accusation and can't find the link. Got it.

"Better than nothing" should be every Michigander's motto these days. Not surprising that you'd say something like that. Now go suck down a Tony's Pizza.

stones should be able to get a low seed. they are a very very deep team. that will help them a lot after the all star break when teams start to get tired and they can rely on a solid 9 man rotation. starting smith and drummond at same time is a mistake. I said it during the summer and everyone sees now that i can run a team better than dumars.

enough knee-jerk reactions. i'd be surprised if the pistons didn't make the playoffs as a low seed. if they were smart they would have went after mello instead of smith. mello would fit in perfectly with our front court guys that don't require too many touches and would have his back defensively. i still don't believe we really have a go to guy with 3 min left in a tie game. i guess that could be jennings as he's the best offensive player we have but is just too inconsistent.

i also noticed that you're always betting against the lions every chance you get. are you taking pitt this weekend?

First of all, a trained chimp could run a team better than Dumars. So don't pat yourself on the back about that.

Second, where do you see me betting against Detroit? Had them last week, had them vs. Dallas -- I don't think I've bet against them all season.

Josh Smith returned to Atlanta for the first time since becoming a Piston and hit just 5-of-15 shots, missing all five of his 3-point attempts, and finishing with 11 points, six rebounds, two assists, three steals and two blocks.

Hawks fans were yelling "shoot it" every time Josh touched the ball and he answered the call more often than not. He's chucking a career-high 5.7 3-pointers per game, despite hitting just under 32 percent of them. We're still not sure why Mo Cheeks hasn't put the clamps on Smith's 3-point shooting, but it looks like he still has the green light to shoot as many as he wants to. And that's bad news for his field goal percentage, which currently sits at 43 percent, while he's also hitting just 62 percent of his free throws this season.

    Hilarious. Wish I'd seen that.

It's already bad for a team to have 1 bad player who has bad shot selection. In Detroit, they have 2. And they also have a center whose FT can't even hit the rim.

I heard someone saying this is a playoff team and can actually beat the Bulls in the playoffs.

The thing is this team was already high on the list of low-IQ non-show on most nights teams that I tend to avoid betting (Hawks, Bucks, Kings some of the others). But then they go and add Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith? It's obvious what this team needed and that's not those 2 guys. SMH.
