Spurs favored now? Does this seem right?

    At Pinnacle:
    Spurs -125
    Heat +113

Spurs closed +195 before Game 1. Is this line to be expected? I was thinking more -110/-110 but maybe I'm just off here. Guess I'm just surprised to see the reigning champs as a dog after one game.

I'll most likely be on the Heat at that price.

Heat needs to win 4 out of the next 6 basically and Heat in the last 2-3 weeks did not show anything to imply that they are much better team than Spurs. Better talent maybe, but Spurs played better collectively. -125 +113 sounds about right

At my shop, its: Spurs -130 Heat Even

Verrryyy tempting to pound the Heat here. However, after seeing the game last night, I can see Spurs winning the Series, especially with Games 3,4,5 in SA

I'm surprised as well...I thought it would be about Heat -110 as well. This seems a bit strange that they're underdogs.

Value city or trap city, can't tell.

2-3-2 normally favors the HOME team (with the exception of last year). If you look at the history of the NBA Finals, it's very rare that the team without HCA wins all 3 of their home games. So the home team normally has a 3-2 lead going into Game 6, or is down 3-2 but still has 2 home games to close it out.

Heat just making it look interesting. They won all series 4-1 when they dropped G1. Tony Parker expected to make circus shots in every game? Please +108 now is a gift, jump aboard while still above even money.

Books are over-reacting IMO. If you think about it, all Miami has to do is win game 2. And then there's just no way they lose 3 in a row on the road, where they've played fairly well. So even if they come to game 6 down 2-3, its not a big deal at all. On the other hand, they can even come into game 6 up 3-2, in which case the series is obv. over.

And also keep in mind where Miami is a team that responds well after a win, SAS not so much. Still remember how after OKC won 1 and broke their streak last year, these guys lost 4 in a row. So once Miami wins game 2, we have no idea how Spurs are gonna respond, they could very well lose the next 2 or even 3 after that (although unlikely considering Miami has issues playing at a high level consistently).

Don't think they should be favored at this point...but am I the only one that thought it was flat out crazy how many open corner 3s the spurs were getting. Heat rotations were definitely off the entire game and lackluster shooting was to blame for the close game more so than defensive intensity. You can give those shots to Indy and Chicago, but SA thrives off of them much like the heat themselves do, should be interesting going forward as that was the one glaring hole I saw last night.

Gotta think this series splits in Miami and then splits back in SA. I think it comes back to Miami in gm 5 tied 2-2.

Yes. This format most definitely favors the time getting three straight at home, provided they split the first two.

With that said, I'm not getting my hope up on the Spurs winning the series yet. It's only one game.

I was thinking the same last night. Miami got everything they wanted and still lost. I guess that can be seen as a negative or positive (got everything they wanted and still lost?).

Series will probably come down to Wade and Bosh. LeBron is too much of a nice guy to take over. I thought LeBron tried really hard to involve Wade and Bosh rather than taking over. Either Wade and Bosh need to step up and play like All-Stars, or LBJ needs to be greedy and dominate. Miami can't waste time trying to involve both those guys and both end up having sub-par games.

Going to be a great series. I think we will see Miami make the proper adjustments in game 2 (More LBJ in post, less Bosh 3pters, less Miller/Allen).

It does not favor the team with three at home. Too much time at home and very hard to beat a team like mia 3 straight.

Either way, I still think Miami wins in 6.

Miami wins games 2-3, Spurs win game 4. Miami wins games 5-6.

But yes, I would love to eat my words. Ginbobliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

I think its going to be 3-2 Spurs going into game 6 and from there I don't know what will happen. Spurs in 6 or Miami in 7 is what my gut tells me.

Based on what I saw last night the spurs are in trouble. Purely speaking from a basketball standpoint, not in terms of where the series stands.

San Antonio will not win if Miami continues to get out on the 3 point shooters like they did last night.

Books not interested in handing out any more + money on spurs. Funny how all series the spurs play have so much rest in btwn games.

Hmm, as far as I remember Spurs did miss quite a few open 3's and they managed to clamp down on the Heat very nicely in the 2nd half, which indicates a coaching advantage. After game 1, this feels like a 50-50 series.
