I've been watching the NFL futures on Matchbook and placed a couple bets on division winners. I was wondering if anyone else plays NFL futures. If so, what places do you use? I tried looking for lines at CRIS but they don't offer much for NFL futures betting. Is there a page somewhere that will compare lines on NFL division winners, for example, similar to the SBR comparison page on sides? Any info on betting NFL futures would be welcome! Thanks.

#2Very rarely do I play futures, but I usually make a small preseason wager on the Super Bowl winner. I took the Colts this year @ 6/1. There is good money to be made in betting futures. With a job in politics, I have done very well betting political futures. I also made a small preseason play on the Milwaukee Bucks to win the Eastern Conference @ 50/1. Like any wager, if I see value in the odds, I will make a play. I just don't see value that often in futures.Comment -

#4I agree that it's tougher to find value in futures, at least in my brief experience looking at lines. Getting the Colts at 6/1 is looking good right, now that the line is at 1/1. Hard to comprehend how the books can have Indy as a virtual coinflip against the rest of the NFL.
Another aspect is that it ties up funds for such an extended period. I put a few more micro bets down at Matchbook, just for fun, but I'd absolutely hate to have any significant money tied up betting a future for an entire season.
Another interesting prop over at Matchbook that I saw: "Will T.O. play again in 2005". I put a buck down that he will not. This seems more of a legal question. Seems like a sports lawyer could find easy value in that bet.Comment -
