Re-read the post (if you even bothered in the first place). I'm not saying there shouldn't be a bullpen. I'm wondering why it has to be out beyond the field of play, detached from everything that is going on in the game.
Yea I read the post. You misread mine.

OK then, explain the need for having an actual bullpen -- and not the one out in the OF, but having one close to the field of play like in the old parks, with players either right there with the action or even in the dugout with the rest of the team.

Like they do in San Fran you mean? Why have a bullpen on the field when it could interfere with play? I get your point but my point is that you made this thread over your frustration with relief pitching. Remember - at least 90% of these guys are guys who couldn't cut it as starters.

you could have it behind the dugout out under the stands I suppose. Players would sit in the dugout.

Again, I will say the same thing to you that I said to GK -- check the time of the thread and my plays today. This had absolutely nothing to do with my "frustration with relief pitching."

Most ballparks have plenty of foul-ball space.

if you were an owner and you were paying some guys near 20 million a year, when you got a new stadium would you put a couple of mounds in foul territory for your players to trip over and get injured?

I don't know why they call it a bullpen, there are no bulls in there just human beings.

    Maybe they should rename it.

Again, what does that have to do with any bet I made today?

My only bet from that game was the Tampa TT under -- and that thread was about a Tampa reliever.

Not all pitchers can go for the whole 9 innings so they have other pitchers in the bullpen to help out if the starting pitcher gets really tired.

    He's exactly right.

And spare me the "you're sensitive bullshit." I told you a long time ago to just ignore my posts and threads, yet for some reason, you feel the need to comment in this know-it-all, matter-of-fact tone despite the fact that you're wrong -- like in this instance.

Somehow you know my motivation for starting a thread re: this topic, even when it obviously had nothing to do with a play? Seriously dude, get lost.

He actually said to stop responding in any threads of his?

We've definitely had our disagreements about things, but I don't remember it getting to that point. Like I said, if it did, I have no problem with it.

I've asked you multiple times, yet you continue to respond like you have in this thread -- only to pretend like you aren't trolling. Who's "playing dumb" again?
