Probably 1st only weakness is no good lefty specialist, the bullpen was the Nats biggest strength last year and they added Soriano.

Last year the Braves were the best but they lost guys, KImbrell is the best in the game still though

royals #2? thats a bit much, I'd put them Top 10 for sure but not #2

    Cincy above KC

seattle should be way higher than 13

nats should probably be a bit higher

giants maybe a bit too high

red sox maybe a bit too low

Where does this list come from? I'd swap the Pirates and Brewers based on early returns - in fact, Pitt pen has not been that bad. Rays pen has been terrible so far. Yanks may be overrated too, but only time will tell.

Royals are top 5 for sure, 2 might be a bit high but I can't say I've done a ton of research on other pens.

Guy has been nothing but solid with Pittsburgh in whatever role so far. He's a good cheap option. My guess is he'll get dealt at the trade deadline this year or next. He's on a friendly, two year deal - so teams looking for a bullpen arm for the stretch will come calling if he pitches as well as he has the last few years. Melancon could easily slip into the role if Grilli sucks or gets traded or whatever.

    Pirates Pen has potential

they have a knack for getting a decent bullpen year after year from spare parts and junk

My list would be closer to those in the Runs Scored rankings. Braves deserve #1 for sure. 6 runs scored in 49.2 innings.

Texas has the highest BBP9 rating at 1.81 and the Royals has the best KP9 ratio at 11.1.

The Jays deserve to be much higher. The bullpen has been the only thing that's been good on this team. For some reason they decided to have a couple of scrubs that got hammered and messed up their overall stats, but if you look at their top guys, they've been pretty lights out.

Agree VP those fools are so inconsistent even going back to last season. Jepsen will have a few solid innings and then get rocked the next few. Downs and Frieri were up and down too. Frieri went 10 saves without giving up a hit last year and then turned to crap after the break. Jury still out for me anyway on the new additions lowe n burnett have looked ok at times but their long relief blows as well.

the marlins pitching hasn't been the rporblem this year...given there are a few straight up blowouts, almost every game has been within 2-3 runs and atleast 4 have been 1 run games but we can't score or hit for shit and thus were like 3-13......

our pitching, which is full of complete no names, has beens and bums, have actually outperformed the predictions quite well but that lineup we have is beyond awful...stanton is trash as he has no protection and is swininging at anything and is hitting a disgusting .152 with no homers or rbi's.....lineup is AWFUL

O and I think the Rockies pen is way better than 27. Only five other clubs have thrown more innings and they've only lost 2 and era 3.62. Pretty solid IMO.

Ya, its official. Laa have the worst pen. They also have the worst rotation IMO. Definitely the worst defensive infield. What a joke. This club is more worthless than a bag of farts.

Without question. Probably top 5-6, but this is year in and year out. The Bucs always have very good bullpens. They also know how to get rid of them at the right time as well. They'll probably make a fool out of some GM who just HAS to have Jason Grilli next year. (I'm looking your way, Yankees)

Right now bal has won 100 straight games when leading in the 7th. Still wouldn't take their pen over braves but they're in the conversation for best pen.

Tigers and Indians are ranked too high both of their bullpens are horrible.

Brewers and Rockies bullpens are much better than their ranking.
