It slightly concerns me that (esp in this US economy and era of a battle weary military) several nations could be conspiring to harm us in many ways, including some who act as our allies/friends.
Also recent reports that the Taliban is actually getting stronger in Afghanistan and becoming a very formidable opponent with their Battle style, particularly in urban settings using peaceful citizens as shields and cover.
A lot of Americans thought this would be an easy war when we invaded these countries after 9/11. Some were enjoying a party during the shock and awe faze and laughing it up only thinking how we would just kick their arse and move on. Bin Laden said his goal was financial ruin and look at things now.
They are far more motivated and determined than we are and that is the problem. After 9/11 everyone was geared up and ready to fight but now 8 years later the initial urge to kick ass has worn down and over extended deployments have caused fatigue to the armed forces. The sad fact is for things to be handled in a more proffesional and serious manner I believe another attack on US soil will need to occur. God forbid it does but if it happens I can see us finishing the job over there rather quickly with a whole new recruiting class joining up and having strong passion, emotion, and motivation.
