Jay, how much do you need to win at a minimum, in order to break even for the week? Or are you trying to see how long you can make x amount of dollars last?

re-read the thread from start to finish. GL man...really enjoy your daily updates.

If you can find a job yeah you can last, but if you are relying on gambling for your income you are going to go bust. I had 2 jobs when I lived there and got an offer from the Aria for a full time front desk position(which apparently pays in the neighborhood of 70,000/year) and turned it down before I moved back to Texas.

Coop went back to Canada last night but, not before I had spent another $40-$50 on drinks that I otherwise wouldn't have spent if he weren't here. But he's gone now so, it's back to business as usual today. Overall since I woke up with $2,000.00 that day, I drank away $50, spent another $15 or so at McDonald's & realized that if I wanted to get served at the Bellagio I was gonna have to start tipping. At a buck a drink I ran through another $18-$20 so, before I knew it I though I was down to $1900 but I went 10-0 betting those small show & across the board bets which made a small profit of $35.
I won the the Oilers game & the T-Wolves game for ten each & I also won the OKC game which was completely awesome to watch. Do you have any idea how incredible it is to watch a game in a book where everyone cheering actually knows what the spread is?!
Thunder was up 4 when KD went to the line and after he made the 1st one people clapped, then some guys started yelling "ONE MORE, ONE MORE", because as we know here, the spread was 5 flat! Sure enough he maintains his 85% from the line, sinks the 2nd one & the place erupted. Guys giving us high fives as we were walking to the cage to collect! Just doesn't happen in Canada. Besides the PAC12 game I saw live, it was the best game I've watched here so far! Simply awesome!
Now for the flip side of this coin, the Lakers cost me cause I had SAC at +8.5, I lost 3 out of 4 race book bets at the end of the night & I had my 1st losing session at the Monte Carlo, which sucked but, I was able to log 3 & half more hours towards the Freeroll on the 31st.
I also had to buy another pack of cigarettes!
All said & done I didn't really lose much gambling but buying drinks really hurt me. Buying drinks in Vegas, what's wrong with me?!
After eating it was a $110 day because I have $1,890.00.
And I definitely won't be buying more alcohol now that I know I can drink at the Bellagio for a reasonable rate.
At the Wynn right now trying to get this wagon wheel rolling in the sportsbook but, eventually I will have to head up to the Monte Carlo to try & log those hours. They also told me last night I am getting $1 an hour for playing in the poker room there.
I guess that means I'm a professional poker player now!

I figure I'll do some $5 race betting here at the Wynn because I don't intent to get hammered today so, why make the walk to the Bellagio for $5 bet drink tickets.
Oh yeah, I do have to go the Bellagio because Coop had to leave before the end of the Oilers game so I have to get up there to cash the ticket.

$5 show Louisiana Downs $5 show Race 4
    WINNER
    $5 show Beulah Race 7

Bellagio is we're I go for majority of my sports wagers also. I tip very well and have no issues getting drinks. I tip fairly well and they don't mind 2-3 drinks per visit. So I'll ussualy order 2 beers and a shot of whiskey or something. Then sitting back and watching the game. Day games are the best as its not as busy. Thanks for the updates pal. Hope you make it long as possible on your role. Wife and I are in the final planning of our summer trip to Vegas.

    Hope I'm still here!
The $5 show at Beulah was a winner but I tried something different & bet the DOUBLE in Turf's 2nd.
Already done so back to even on the day.
    Heading to the Bellagio now.

If I were you I'd stop buying drinks, stop betting horses, don't play any table games or machines and stick strictly to poker and sports.

Front desk jobs don't pay 70k a year anywhere in Vegas. The hotel manager, yes. Desk agents 45k.

Everyone here today seems to love the nuggets so, I guess I'll take a chance on them, place them in a parlay maybe.

I know, I know! I am not gonna play table games & the reason I bet the horses is mainly for the drink tickets. Stayin sober today so, I should be good.

I have to give you credit because I don't know how many people would actually wanna go through the grind your doing right now. Its great to try and make it in Vegas, but why wouldn't you wait till you had more money built up? I mean 2400 to try and catch lightening in a bottle is peanuts. Personally I would never wanna live in dirty hotels so that I could bet $10 a game or wtvr and/or grind out a 5 hour poker session for $75. Personally I feel like your putting yourself through a lot of unnecessary hard ship in an effort to make really nothing. You need to find something on the side to supplement what you have or else you'll never make it. Again, I applaud the effort, but I think your asking for a lot with the limited funds you have.

Jay, you're not on the track to last 6 months my man, you're lucky to break even 1 at this rate. Already down about 20% of your bankroll and you're STILL paying for drinks? -EV to pay $20 for drinks no matter if you win or lose while only betting $10 a game. This is a spot where you have to roll the dice, got to do what Cuse said, all in on one game. Spread or ML -175 to -250 range, you have to get up to $3,500 so you can start betting more per game and win enough to pay to live. Personally I'd find tennis (LVH?) and push in on some early round favs.

Yup, it would be nice to have more money. It would also be nice is Jessica was playing NL in the Poker Room now looking for a tall dorky lookin' to bring back to her suite and bang but, some things just aren't gonna happen.

If you can find sets instead of ML, I'd definitely take Djok and Potro in their first matches as well as Potro in his second match.

If you can parlay ML, definitely your 5, maybe throw in one of them sweeping the match for a better payout.
