I used to go out to Vegas for the first round of March madness every year. After a while it got to the point where if we wanted to have a seat to watch the game we had to be posted up at 6am so we stopped going that weekend. That was probably 8 years ago and I have heard its gotten better, or there are ways to "reserve" seats at places but was wondering if any of the locals or anyone who have been out there the last few years have any ideas. I haven't made any hotel reservations so if there are hotels that will give you preferred seating if your staying there or something let me know. Otherwise any advice would be appreciated.
I'm curious as well. I've wanted to do this for a couple years, and if my PO let's me I'd love to go this year. Hope somebody here has some good info or tips.
I was there two years ago for the opening weekend of the tournament and this (seating) is still the biggest inconvenience of the trip. If anyone has suggestions other than, "Get there at 7 a.m.," I'm all ears.
Im sure the local sharps will be so happy Im posting this lol.
Head to the M casino (get a M life membership card) and from there you can bet on their tablets without any lines using your CC or prepaying in cash.
Once you have a tablet you dont have to stay in.the sportsbook just on the property so im dure you can watch the gane at a bar or wherever. H
However this book does take the largest bets and action in LV currently so if youre betting small (under 50$ live wagers or spread plays) it might be hard to keep your tablet I honestly dont know. I used the M exclusively during MLB as they were the only book offering first 5 inning wagers.
Also you might wanna try some off the strip locations. Leroys, south point, golden nugget, rio, palms, etc.
I do have one question. How do you line shop on games you have to wait in line for?
Glad ive never bet the tourney seriously sounds terrible.

I've gone the past 3 years. Not going this year. I usually play poker during the games and just walk over and stand at the book for the final 5 minutes of any games I have bets on. Seating is still tough if you're on strip. Last year i found prices in vegas have gone through the roof. maybe it was just because March Madness and St. Patricks day fell on the same week this year but everything was significantly more expensive this last time around. This year I'll be going to my local casino and just betting the games online.
the Las Vegas Hotel and Casino has a large viewing area. They use one of the large Show rooms and they have a concession stand with cheap beer and soft pretzels, nachos etc....
This is the hotel formerly called the Las vegas hilton casino.
