Castro is a natural leadoff. Cubs are stupid for asking him to change his game

Edwin Encarnacion had the absolute career-year in 2012. He obliterated his personal best in home runs by hitting 42 to lead the league (his previous high was 26 in 2008). He also had career-bests in just about every offensive category.

And as impressive as his 2012 season was, it's difficult to expect the 30-year-old to duplicate those results in 2013. His track record speaks to a decent amount of power with a mid-.200 batting average. And while he may still have a productive campaign, a 40-home run season is likely not within reach.

    Glad you brought up Stanton.
Yes, he's a phenom, a beast, however do you really think opposing pitchers are going to pitch to him, with that weak ass line up behind him.
He has 50 homer potential, will only hit 25-28 this year with 110 walks, because, well, you can walk him and not give him anything to hit.

Agree about LAD. That's a good 3-4-5. Didn't like the Bosox trading Crawford and AGon. Beckett - yeah - get rid of him (jerk). Even if the LAD guys stay healthy I have to go with the LAA 3-4-5 (and the rest - more power and some on-base guys besides 3-4-5). That lineup could (if healthy, especially Pujols) could be unbelievable.

Both So Cal Baseball teams have the scariest 3-4-5 punches in baseball. Detroit is up there too.

wait Trout isn't leading off anymore? Would hate to see him out of the leadoff spot. I don't think the power numbers will be there this year and no doubt in my mind he should be leading off.

he's still the leadoff. I was just pointing out that their lineup is stacked.

I mean I wouldn't trash him. but a .773 OPS and 0.6 WAR is nothing to be fearful of.

at least he has been red hot as of late
