    The last 10 days are significant because of "laylatil qadr" Or "the night of power and honor". This night during Ramadan is when the first revelation to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was recieved. No one knows for sure what night it was, but scholars agree it was during the last ten days of Ramadan.

    I think they will do fine. I'm sure they will hydrate themselves very well ahead of time. Espn even did a article on a Minnesota Vikings defensive player who kept his fast during practice sessions, it was tough for him but he hydrated his body well in advance.
