Unbelievable. They couldn't trade him now if they wanted to. I don't get why the Lakers are so afraid of losing the guy. He plays uninspired most of the time, doesn't have a jumper and can't hit free throws, This isn't Dwight Howard of three years ago people. Get over him.

They couldn't trade him cause they wouldn't get fair value for him. If the Lakers wanted a mid-level guy and a 1st round pick, any team that didn't jump on it would be idiotic.

I don't see the downside in trading him. Get a couple of future No. 1's (2014 and 2015), plus two young athletic guys and then take a run at LeBron in 2014.

As long as the Lakers remain committed to D'Antoni, Howard isn't going to work.

Howard is done....shoots free throws like Ray Charles...is injured on every little play (I mean was he even contacted on that play that knocked him out of the game)

Howard refused to sign more than a year contract before the season bc he thought he would get some monster Kobe level max deal at the end of it.....BIG MISTAKE!

Howard makes his injuries look less significant because of how huge he is. He took a huge hack to the wrist as he was going up for a standing dunk and it actually looked pretty painful. And he will get a monster contract.

if howard leaves in free agency, it will be an epic disaster
they would have lost both howard + bynum for NOTHING and STILL be over the cap
kobe will be done the year after and lakers will have no draft picks
where is the positive in that?

The NBA is moving away from the days of when 7-footers dominated Look at last year's NBA finals. Even if it means getting shorter, the Lakers need to get younger and more athletic. They can bite the bullet now or later but either way it needs to be done. Even P.J. said the Lakers got worse towards the end because of Bynum.

By 2015, there won't be a recognizable player on the roster, unless Kobe becomes a player/coach.

If Dwight Howard could shoot free throws hed be a lethal force for the Lakers...the problem is in close games (seems like almost every game is a close game) they cant even hardly use him bc hell either miss 1 or both free throws then the other team slices through that shit Lakers defense and lays it in or hits a 3 and 30 seconds later they're tied instead of up 4....Lakers blow leads in the 4th qtr about like Golden State used to and against teams like Phoenix that fukin suck!

New Orleans Pelicans Hornets Horsecrap were down 18 with 5:30 mins left in the game in LA a couple days ago then were only down by 1 with 2 mins left in the game...I mean its fuckin pathetic, what were Lakers up by 10 goin into the 4th against Phoenix then right on cue lose the 4th by 16

Also what the penetrate happened to Pau Gasol? That motherfuker is shooting free throws about as bad as Dwight now and use to be like 80%

If Howard can stay healthy , he would compliment Dirk at PF extremely well. Atlanta is also a possibility. I'm happy he didn't come to Brooklyn, as it stands Lopez seem to have a brighter future. Has the NBA changed that much in the last ten years or so. Why can't big men stay healthy anymore? The Odd thing with Howard is...his upper body gets hurt ..back, shoulders..Whereas other big men usually hurt their lower half, especially the knees.

Does any book still offer Lakers playoff prop?

Ready to pound the NO as soon as we get an update on this injury, and BEFORE this road trip gets any further - I smell a brutal 6-game stretch for LA.

He should dominate but he has no heart. Plays soft every night that he plays. He is a cancer to team chemistry in LA and created the same poor chemistry in Orlando. He needs to watch a little video of Dennis Rodman or Larry Bird and see how far heart, guts, and competitive fire can take you. Makes me sick to watch his cry baby antics. Man up Howard.
