It's what happens when you recruit athletic freaks who get 15's on their ACT. They are so athletic that fundamentals aren't important against subpar high school talent. And even when they play good talent, the majority of kids lack the same skills they do.

also most of these kids, never play in any tight games in high school where foul shooting is important..

so they never had the need to learn to shoot free throws, when everything in hs was a break away dunk or 3 pointer

atleast thats my experience from the kids i know who i played against who have gone to d1 schools

should have had two rings if his kids could have hit free throws down the stretch against kansas several years back. it's just not something he worries about for whatever reason, probably the kind of kids he gets like ebbears was saying. to add to that, when you're working with kids like that, your big focus is getting them to buy into their roles, because they're all used to getting all the touches and putting up 25-30 a night. he also is very open about trying to get as many kids as he can to the nba, and free throw shooting isn't exactly high on the list when you're evaluating who you should draft.

Nerlens Noel is a beast all by himself.Scary to think what he could be if he just put on a few pounds and developed a Tim Duncan post up game.

That kid Marshall Henderson is a punk.

he could have two under his belt if Memphis knew how to shoot FTs that year.

agreed but its not very hard to bring somebody in and take an extra hour in practice and have everyone go to the line and tell them they aren't ending practice every night until every one hits 20 outta 25 straight free throws. apparently he doesn't do anything of that sort.

Granted LK jumped on you a bit unnecessarily here (but he's just backing up his boy). C'mon, Lkid contributes as much as anyone does to this forum. You, sweep, and Lkid are all solid posters, how about you guys settle your differences and attack the real asshats here, cause there are a lot of them.

Agreed. I was an 83% free throw shooter in middle school. For fukks sake, I still had to have a little jump to get it to the hoop consistently.
Only exceptions are the dudes with HUGE hands, thats like us trying to shoot a tennis ball, which is difficult. But gimme 5 million a year, and I think I'd find a way to shoot at least 70%.

^^^ That and Da'sean Butlers torn ACL are two of the toughest moments of TV to watch. Not a fan of Calipari, but he was a class act at the end of that game.

Everyone at sbr shoots 95% from the line. ..
Shooting free throws during a road game where fans are going nutty is a bit different than shooting with your boys in the backyard..

I shoot about a 100% from my count
    85% in nba2k13
And about 75% when I hit the black top

Uk 7 out of 8 from the line during money time is what matters

Those 2 sentences contradict each other don't they? Winning a national title isn't easy. There are only like 11 active coaches that have won a national title.
