    have to disagree with you here as a Colts fan. his talents were immense, but practicing and playing with Manning for his career made him that much better. Then he was hurt... tried to come back and play in a playoff game and fumbled away the team's momentum in 2007. Also, it was the other wr's or tight ends who were the ones to step up in the playoffs, while Marvin could be shutdown... not just "held in check" as he was so small.

Some say Rice was only great because he had Montana and Young while others say Montana and Young were so great because of Rice. Probably a little truth in both but I think of it in tiers and certainly the top tier guys have been mentioned so far.
