    Deadly Krav Maga Expert

If only Roy could be a bit more agressive he might actually be able to intimidate someone.

    My money's on BigDay!

Krav Megra, Ninjitsu, all those flashy Martial Arts are not really practical vs actual combat athletes.

yes, but versus a guy on the streets or a bar, it's more than enough.

    Quite the contrary.

Although for teaching and explanatory purposes some scenes were planned, do you REALLY think he'd be 'dead in the water' should someone(s) try to improvisationally try to hurt him?

    Lol

Then let's pit your basic boxing skills against Roy's arsenal. I'm sure that would be a coin toss.

Haha show me a video of that guy actually doing something Vs somebody who is actually fighting back. It's easy to grab a wrist when it's choreographed.

Krav Maga is the biggest scam in martial arts.

I would take BigDay to land a double leg takedown and then I would love to see some Krav Maga from the guard.

You are a good guy, I like your videos, but Krav Maga is not what you think. It is just for show. Find 1 successful MMA fighter who uses it. You will not find one, and the excuse you will hear is "it's to dangerous for MMA" which is a Bs excuse.

Krav Maga was developed for real world situation, even in the demonstration it showed a gun to the head..... If your looking for practical this is it. If your looking for fights with exchanging punches the look somewhere else

There is no body control. Them grabbing a punch mid air and the. Flipping their opponent is extremely unrealistic. Gouging the eyes and punching the throat is a means to an end. A Muay Thai fighter could kick or pinch somebody in the throat if they wanted too, a BJJ fighter or wrestler could control yours body, take you down and gouge a way at the eyes if they so felt like it.

The US military created Army Combatives as a way of hand to hand combats in real world situations. It was basically Jujitsu with a few strikes.

Looks a lot like basic Hap Ki Do self defense, with guns thrown in for effect. Pretty sure Koreans were doing it first

SportsPedagogy you might be right. when I took jiu jitsu & judo classes few years ago there was these 2 guys in both class. One was a krav maga expert, another was an aikido expert. both guys were total d-bags but they did know their stuff.... but... both guys styles were very ineffective. yea we were learning a whole new form of martial arts but as bad as they were, it was hard to believe their styles would be useful outside a demonstration.... or unless you are like the guy in the video above and just the absolute best. I chalked the krav maga up as only teaching to inflict pain, but i dunno. would like to see more

Not really. For the average bar fight you don't want to punch a guys throat because you can easily crush his windpipe and get slapped with a murder charge, you also don't want to gauge anyones eyes in a normal street fight because you don't want pay $100,000+ in lawsuits for deforming the guy

edit: its' very practical though if you are an israeli solider caught behind enemy lines and will do anything to get back

Krav is the most practical self-defense method out there. Not even close. It has nothing to do with art or being pretty, don't get too caught up in a demonstration. It has everything to do with messing your attacker up really really badly so you can get the F out of Dodge. MMA comparisons don't work either. Krav is focused on just about everything you can't do legally in MMA, disarming an attacker, and using whatever is nearby as a weapon. Strikes, throws, how to get up really fast, all that good stuff is included too, but if you've never gone through an actual class, save your dignity and avoid judgement.

You remember that show where 2 MMA experts went around the world and learned different forms of martial arts, then after being trained had a match?
Krav Maga did not impress them and the one guy basically said he was just getting abused, not learning anything.

My friend is a 5th degree dan in Uechi Ryu and has his own dojo. He is also a certified Krav Maga instructor and he believes it is an excellent self-defense discipline. As he says Krav maga is all martial and no art.
