Lakers have one of the most dominant big men in the league IN HIS PRIME. They also have one of the best scorers of all time, past and present. Nash is still more than capable to run the point and Artest can still defend.

The Celtics have NO center. Pierce can't move. Garnett can only play 25 mins a game and their young defender can't stay healthy. Rondo is the only viable player on that team.

Lakers have talent that is underachieving. Celtics have old vets that are showing their age (besides Rondo and Sully).

Celtics get no "flak" because no one expected them to be in the eastern finals last year and they made it. No one expects great things from them this year. So they get no shit.

Lakers were expected to be a top tier team in the West. Bryant went out and got fit for another ring the day they signed Howard. They are playing like shit and everyone should be talking about how the team is playing like shit.

LA signed Howard and Nash and were hyped up during the off-season. People anointed theme WC champs before they played a game.

Boston signed no one and lost Allen. They had no hype.

Also, Boston is currently a playoff team and LA isn't.

Them sucking right now is the best thing for Laker fans because it shadows how horrible this team is set up for the future. They are definitely going to suck for the next 2 or 3 years. But they owe those picks out. So if they do somehow start making the play offs in say 4 years theyre in the same cycle they have been in. No picks and trading picks they dont have to try and rebuild a team that should have been scrapped.

Its like replacing the transmission on a 1994 Tercel. Then replacing the Starter, and the alternator. Then you need to redo the brakes and get a new suspension. You put 5 times the money into a piece of shit than it is even worth. rather than scrapping it and going out and buying something newer and less used. Or totally new.
