It looks like ok bet because the public goes on Sharapova -6.5 so the line went up ...

You just need to take into consideration the fact Makarova played a LONG match with Vesnina in doubles yesterday whilst Sharapova only plays WTA singles in this tournament and she had a long long rest since her match against Venus Williams & Flipkens where she hasn't played long matches neither.

Makarova last Friday had a long match against Bartoli, then a 2 long set match against Kerber on Sudnay, then long match in doubles yesterday ... in terms of fitness against Sharapova she is not coming prepared, but maybe she is like Ferrer who can play long matches day after day ... she doesn't look that fit to me especially considering her young age ...

Likewise Makarova is a left hand player, Sharapova is a right hand player.

I just find it weird the bookies give high odds on Sharapova here, they probably expect a close set or even a 3rd set somewhere ... I actually expect Makarova to retire during the match because she is not David Ferrer who can play forever.

If Sharapova doesn't have serve problems - double faults - she will win this comfortably. Doubles were the reason Makarova played her tighter in Miami than when Masha whipped her here last year 6-2, 6-3. If she's on with her serve, it's going to be tough for Makarova to compete IMO.

Marsha is playing better than Vika at the moment. I would be shocked if Marsha is more an underdog than VIka against Serena. And yes, Serena -125 now but I would not bet on that. Vika / Marsha can beat Serena IMO.

If Serena breaks Sloane early, she may just sort of focus on holding serve and we could see 6-3 6-4 or something similar but if she's focused and determined to destroy any hope of Sloane winning, I think this looks like a 6-2 6-2 type of match.

If its +7 or above, I'd seriously think about taking Stephens. Stephens serve is much better than Kirilenko's. Only thing I'd be worried about is Stephens might be nervous as hell on this match and may not get many first serves in.

She is going to play as if she has nothing to lose ... this is the best form/shape to come to play against Serena.

I assume the bookies expect Serena to use so many aces against Stephens and break her serves 1-2 times per set ...
