Hello everyone. I am interested in learning about what players are allowed to do on road trips if they arrive a day early as opposed to early the next morning. Specifically in the NBA, and MLB.
I know in the NHL, most players are rarely allowed to venture outside the hotel past a certain time (usually midnight) when arriving the night before. They have strict rules, and no alcohol is allowed. Most teams have a chaperone that keep an eye out for the younger guys that like to frequent the clubs/hotspots. These chaperones are also responsible for bringing in high class professional escorts if certain players need some "release" as opposed to players going out and finding their own tail.
Do NBA players have more lax rules? Or MLB? I hear stories all the time of MLB, NBA players going out the night before a game, getting wasted, and bringing back tons of woman.
For example:

“She's notorious, she's the king, the king,” says Raptors forward-guard Antoine Wright. He says even when he played with the New Jersey Nets and the Dallas Mavericks, the word would be to “get up with Mona when we get to Toronto.”
“She got us about 15 wins this year,” says Wright. “Throwing those Saturday night parties works great. She needs a raise.” In a Wall Street Journal article earlier this week, the New York Knicks’ Toney Douglas and Tracy McGrady also bigged up Halem’s bashes.

Just curious if this is the norm in the NBA and if MLB players enjoy a lot of freedom as well vs. other pro league players.
Thanks for any input
