USA has the best defense and goaltending in the tourney. Look for them to try to grind one out. USA and the under both hit

I am not much of a bettor/handicapper but I think this will be over 6 points total game. Should be a good game either way!

Being Canadian it's a sin not to take Canada in this game but I have to say the USA can win it and there is value there.

Incredibly hard to wager against a team with a proven NHLer and so much depth at every position. It's Canada's tournament to lose.

When did shots tell the whole story or well really tell much of the story at all? The USA led in shots because they were taking shots from all over the ice and throwing everything at the net, with most of their shots coming from the outside and very few actually being legitimate scoring chances. Canada was the more dangerous team in that game and had more and better scoring opportunities.

I was never disputing Canada's forwards being the best.

    Subban vs. Gibson
    2012-13 Belleville Bulls OHL 26 1 0 1550 56 4 2 2.17 15 7 3 769 0.932

    2012-13 Kitchener Rangers OHL 20 0 4 1185 46 2 1 2.33 13 7 0 600 0.929

The only goals Subban has been giving up have been terrible defensive gaffs and giveaways. Subban hasn't been inconsistent in the tournament. When he's given a proper opportunity to make the save he is making the save. He has maybe allowed one at most two "bad" goals the entire tournament and has normally been hung out to try by terrible turnovers from Scheifele and McNeil etc.

Defense, Trouba has been playing really well, but otherwise I'll take Ouellete/Harrington/Rielly/Reinhart over any other American defender easily.

Unless the refs decide to become the stars of the game (like USA/Czech and Russia/Swiss games) the game should be a close affair. On the powerplay the US is very dangerous, but 5on5 Canada will be and is too much for them (especially now with a full lineup). I see fatigue and depth coming into play in the third and Canada pulling away with a 5-2 win, with an empty netter.

.932 save % is same thing as 9.29% regardless i don;t se why you think canada will win by 3 goals after grinding out a 2-1 win.

Oh no doubt its really close, but still Subban has the better numbers there.

Why do I think Canada wins by 3 goals? Because the US will be playing their 6th game in 8 days, Canada has their full roster (they looked much better against Russia with their full roster than the first game against the US) and they have better scoring depth. It wouldn't surprise me to see a 2-1 type game, but as I said, I see fatigue and depth being a deciding factor and Canada pulls away late then gets the empty netter.

Fatigue wont matter its the bigest game of these kids life and canada won this tourney without the bye before. Don;t get wrong i think canada has better team i just think don;t trust suban hes been shakey and shouldnt have ben the starter .They said he was garbgre in the camp and those first two games of tourney.

Biggest game of their lives or not, fatigue is going to hit them. The US looked to be slowing down from it late against the Czechs, and adrenaline will only get them so far to start. Teams have won without the bye before, its a one-off tourney anything can happen, but I'll take a fresher Canadian team.

Subban did play like garbage in camp and if things went off of camp alone Paterson would be the starter for sure, but also Frank Corrado would be on the team along with Ryan Sproul and a few others. The first two games Subban was fine, as I said earlier, he got hung out to dry by bad turnovers and defensive play. He allowed one at most two goals that he "should" have stopped. Subban is also a guy who gets up for big games. Everyone seems worried about Subban, but he's 4-0 with a 2.00 GAA (with 4 of the 8 goals allowed coming short handed) and a .930 sv%, I'll take that any day of the week.

I haven't seen any games this tourney but will stay up and watch it. Don't really care who wins, just hope it will be a good game and the winner goes on and wins gold.
So what's the play? I was thinking under but even a 4-1 score late in the game can become 5-1 or 6-1 as the other team WILL pull their goalie. No way to predict this outcome .... might be best to go through the forum and fade the first lock.
    Best of Luck to everyone.

Hopefully they don't have the same refs that worked the US/CZH game. They called penalties for sneezing.

Obvious value on the US at +350 in what should be a close game. Watching and cheering for Canada to pull off the win though. Go Canada!
