chargebacks will hurt our cause
If everyone starts to ********** their credit card deposits then the odds of anyone ever getting paid will just get worse!!
Read this in an online article:
Not all sportsbook.com customers remain patiently waiting. A growing number of players report having charged back those credit cards transactions through which they initially funded their wagering accounts with.
This trend could further hinder the financial stability of beleaguered sportsbook.com and all other books belonging to the Jazette group.

sorry
sorry scott james here is the link i knew someone would ask. makes me nervous because i could see alot of people doing chargebacks. I would do one myslef I guess but the amount of money they owe me as far more than what my original deposit was so it would do me no good. (started with $250 deposit and cashed out $1900)
Where is my money???? I made a w/d request over a month ago, they canceled that and deposited the money back into my account after giving me the run around for 3 weeks. I then tripled that deposit and ask for a w/d on the 20th of march in the amount of $4562. The check by mail option wasn't available for about 2 weeks only wire transfers and i wasn't falling for that so i waited.....didn't do any good im still waiting for a confirmation that my check was sent....BASTARDS!!! NO MORE DEPOSITS WITH THEM ANYMORE. I've called, live chat, emailed numerous times still no help now they wont even email me back. Do these guys really want to lose their loyal business partners??

using debit cards is dumb. no protection against fraud and no charge backs available with debit cards. plus you don't get any points or miles for using it.

No it's not.
no protection against fraud and no charge backs available with debit cards.
100% untrue. Almost all debit cards with ****/** logo on them are protected against fraud as if they were true CCs. Most banks offer 100% protection on debit purchases. Chargebacks work the same as true CCs (albeit diff banks have diff rules on chargebacks, but it remains that chargebacks work just like true CCs).
plus you don't get any points or miles for using it
Wrong. Many banks offer debit cards that offer cash back (when you choose the "credit" option when making a purchase). Of course true CCs offer a HIGHER cash back rate, but you can still get cash back on many debit cards out there. PayPal gives 1% back on their debit **, but of course PayPal is not a bank.
Sorry if it seems like I'm hammering on you---but there isn't one true statement in your entire post.

$1.01 temporary authorization
I had a temporary authorization (debit) on my account over the past couple of days and today it disappeared. In the past, I know processors have to do this before they can make a deposit. My wire was processed 3/19 and sent 3/21, so I should have gotten paid by now. Has anyone that has already received their wire noticed a temporary auth for $1.01 on their account beforehand?? If so, I will be feeling pretty good about getting paid this upcoming week. Thanks.

people say they have, but i contacted people from SBR.com and they say no one they know personally has received anything. Just a few people in this thread so take that for what it's worth..
i just spent like twenty minutes talking to these guys about this situation.
Late feb is when they started having problems (processor dropped them?), they said they cancelled all withdrawals, credited money back to the players accounts who requested them, and added a bonus. (If this is untrue let me know)
Searched for a new processor the next couple weeks, and supposedly solved the problem between march 18-20th. Any withdrawals placed anywhere between march 1st and march 22nd are going to be subjected to unusually long processing times as these were the first to be tried with their new processor.
They told me they worked hard to establish a new connection with another processor and they are in no way going anywhere because of this. They can only process so many withdrawals in a given week so as we all can see withdrawals got backed up to the high heavens. Currently they are sending out as many withdrawals as they can in that given week. Didn't ask how many, and i know i would not have gotten an answer.
If you placed your withdrawal after march 23th you should be subjected to less delay. They are convinced any wire placed after this date would be received in 7-11 business days, 12 being the most they have heard of anyone experiencing (so they say). Checks would take 12-16 business days.
Supposedly their new proccessor is up and running good so they claim. Only time will tell. They were 100% confident that everyone would be getting their funds (as obviously any business would be). These next two weeks are going to be huge. I would say everyone who placed a withdrawal before march 27th should have funds in their account by 4/20 (wires that is). The only reason they stated this would not happen was if your wire was sent to the wrong account #, and after the 10th business day you could contact them and talk about it.
So from what i understand things are going a lot smoother over there. They have a new processor up and all those that requested wires in march should have them by the friday of april 20th (latest date i think is acceptable, but not very). They said they have no intentions at all of closing up shop because they did bust their ass to find new connections. I think they would have shut down by now if they were going too.
If a lot of us haven't received them by then we should think of some alternative options to solving this problem. There must be some, it is without a doubt illegal to accept someone's wager and then never pay them their rightfully due funds.
If anyone has any other info please let me know, i am just trying to piece together all these details im receiving. Im a little more optimistic after this conversation, they did seem to know what they were talking about. But like always they hide a lot of information with you, which i understand since they really aren't supposed to accept bets from every location in the world.
I am currently within the 7-11 day timeframe for wire transfers, and was promised it should arrive april 10th give or take a day or two. I am going to wait untill the 12th before i start getting really pissed. Give it 12 business days for wires, 16 for checks, and if none of us get paid there has to be some actions we can take. what they are i don't know yet but im going to look into it.
hay chigoldcost27,....i have got to hand it to yait looks to me like your a guy on a mission !!! so have you droped the ********** thing for now ?? and after talking to them for so long, when do ya think i will get my check ??? requested on the 26th...... processed on the 29th... i live in california !!! what ya think ???? thanks

If you look at this thread - nobody is getting paid in 10 days.
I am past 12 now - and sports book just sends me a form letter when I contact them about it.
This is their standard BS - next week it will be 15 days instead of 5 to 7 (which they originally told me) then 7 to 10 (last week) now 10 to 15 (this week). what are the odds on next week being 15 to 20???? They are crooks - stalling while keeping their door open.
It has come to our attention that some bank wire withdrawals are currently taking more than 10 business days to arrive in customers' bank accounts.
The Withdrawals Department is working with our bank to have all these transactions credited as quickly as possible. The funds should appear in your bank account soon.
We sincerely apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience.

OK, let me rephrase, significantly less protection for debit cards than credit cards... so at least one statement was true, i.e., it is dumb to use debit cards.
From Plaindealer on Cleveland.com
Q: I know you are apprehensive about debit cards. But with a debit card, you can use it as a credit card even though it's still taken from your checking account. Is that OK? M.P., Solon
A: Let's be clear here. You never, ever have the option of using a debit card as a credit card. You may have the option of using it to be processed as a "credit transaction," meaning it's processed through the ********** or **** network.
Credit cards, by definition, are things you use to charge purchases that you will pay for later when you get the bill. Debit cards aren't that.
To your question: Debit cards that can be processed as credit transactions (because they carry a ********** or **** logo) are far, far worse than those that can be used only with a PIN.
Because of several questions like yours recently, I'll resurrect my rant on debit cards: Protection under federal law stinks with a debit card.
With a credit card, your liability with fraud or errors is limited to $50 if you notify the creditor within 60 days after the statement is mailed.
With a debit card, the $50 liability limit expires two days after the fraud, then it jumps to $500. And you're not legally protected against errors. Credit cards offer the protection of the federal Fair Credit Billing Act.
That means you can decline to pay for products or services that weren't received, are defective or otherwise are unacceptable. There's no such protection with a debit card.
If you pay for something with a credit card and the merchant makes a mistake (say, charging you the wrong amount), you can dispute the charge and not pay it while it's being investigated.
With a debit card, however, banks are vague about protection.
You're protected against "unauthorized use" with a debit card, but many banks say they don't consider a merchant mistake to be "unauthorized use" because you authorized the merchant to debit your checking account.
Instead, it's a "billing dispute" that you must settle directly with the merchant. So if XYZ Co. charges you $500 instead of $50, you're on your own.
If you use a debit card and fraud or a billing mistake causes checks or transactions to bounce, you will be hit with nonsufficient funds fees (often $30 or more a pop) and you will very likely have trouble getting those refunded.
Debit card transactions require more careful bookkeeping than most people are willing to do.
Debit card transactions can be rejected even if you have enough money in the account. For example, pre-authorization on a gas pump purchase might try to "hold" $75. If you want $10 in gas and have $30 in the account, you couldn't pay outside by the pump.
Debit card authorizations can lock up your money. A merchant such as a gas station, hotel or car rental company may put a hold on more money than you're spending, and that amount will be frozen for 72 hours, meaning you won't have use of your own money for at least three days.
Debit cards provide frightening access into your bank account just because the 16-digit account number exists - even if you never use the card! The number could be used fraudulently so easily.
Think of all of the cases we've had recently where consumer information has been lost or stolen from companies.
Do you want your bank account to be vulnerable to that?

dude you are smack dab in the middle of when they were having problems. You are one of the poeple that might be worrying about getting your transfer at all. They were fixing up all their problems with their new processor right when they said your transfer was sent. Anyone's who was sent before march 23rd, should expect unordinarily long delays...
I never once said you would receive it in 10 days. They did say they have reports of people receiving them in 9-10 days. Not only the people here are the ones getting f'd. There are thousands of people dealing with this problem. There are only 50-100 here posting at most. I lurked for quite some time, and i assume others are as well.
hey alvin I just came up with april 20th cause thats a week longer then they said it would come, and that's basically as long as they deserve before someone starts thinking of contacting someone other then those assholes to solve this problem. It is by no means a date giving by them. That would just be about 18-20 business days for me and thats way to ****ing long. Especially since they said they had most of their problems worked out at this point in time.
I asked for my withdrawal on march 19th when the wire option was the only one available (i wish i would have been smarter then to realize something must have been up to only have that option). they said it was sent out on the 26th. It is expected to be here no more then a day or two later then 4/10/07
do not forget that doj has access to these foruma as well-- dont give out to muc h info regarding methods of depost!!!

from what i was told, you should be well out of the ridiculously long delay period. They said there processors are up and running A LOT better (but yes i know they say a lot of shit). I would assume yours would arrive no longer then 11 business days. They told me before they started having problems wires would take 2-4 days. Which is extremely fast for an international wire transfer. There is no way to know for sure unless you get ahold of someone high up in the company which they wouldn't allow me to do.
I'd say you would be ridiculously luck to receive it next week, if you don't get it the week after then start worrying. We are basically around the same time frame so i will definately keep you posted.

Your earlier post was short and easy to go point by point. This writer is also wrong on most points, but I don't have the time or inclination to shoot down each point. Just be advised that he is: 1) not recognizing that every bank has a different policy and 2) completely not up to date with the rules banks follow concerning debit card chargebacks, fraud protection, etc.
In short, both you and he have no idea about how debit cards are actually treated these days when there is an issue. Carry on, I'm done.

Huh? Everyone connected with SBR knows MARC; he used to work here, LOL. So your statement is patently untrue.
Unfortunately, I don't have any better information for you. It seemed
a few bankwires finally went through according to forum reports, but
none of the players I have direct contact with via email have been
paid anything. Sportsbook.com still continues to use the processor
excuse which I think has some truth to it. But as it becomes longer
and longer from when they actually paid, the risk of never getting
paid increases. "
