SBR owes nothing to anyone. As crusty pointed out, you are not responsible for those you allow to advertise. Also, SBR_John stated that they run a business here, and need to collect add revenue. Due to US laws, Coke, Pepsi, major corporations with well respected names are not going to advertise here. They get money from those who are willing to give it. Should their ratings be less directly tied to what portion of revenue that book provides, sure. But there is a lot of us with thousands of posts, so clearly this place is doing something right.

Hopefully they become more transparent in the future, but for now, unfortunately I think this is the best you are going to get.

I agree with your statement. However, SBR is the not in the business of hosting a message board. They are in the business of being a sportsbook watchdog.
It appears information that could have been passed on to us was not, at least not in a timely fashion. If SBR was so quick in downgrading BI from B to F in record time, there had to be time somewhere in there to drop us a note before this all happened. To make that "record" downgrade, information that issues existed that MAY or MAY NOT affect the stability of this book should have posted here in mid November.

from what i know about withdrawals (which isn't much) a couple people claim they received a payment after november 6th but they may have been lying and shilling for betislands.

All well and good, but you left out the part where SBR "confirmed" that BI's owner was a well established bookmaker with a solid reputation in the industry, and that the ownership group was financially secure. It was stated time and again that this is why you upgraded them so quickly. It wasn't because posters liked them and it wasn't because they survived a couple football seasons.

What other books are these backers involved with? Tell us about their ownership group so we know which books to avoid in the future. Or was that whole confirmation line just total bullshit?

I am certain that most watchdog sites knew there was going to be a big problem in the industry especially with anything Jazz related on or around October 25. Two of the individuals who went down in that sting were the money behind all Jazz entities. The shell game started that day. The software was seized days later. The street and agent money dried up immediately and the lifeline to that activity was cut which cut the cash flow to nothing. Anyone who knew the who's who behind the scenes knew it was coming.

John you know exactly who the "deep pockets" ownership of the site was. This crock about them (BI) feeding you information is BS. You knew very well that this book (and anything else tied to Jazz and the Actionware software used in the US to track bets for these books) took a shit that day (Oct 25) and was not gonna bounce back. You can't play like you don't have your ear to the ground at all times. You are very well aware how money moves in this business and that money was not gonna move any longer to those affiliated.

SBR claimed, time and again, that they had confirmed that Betislands' ownership group was well funded and well respected in the industry.

They now need to tell us who these "established" "financially secure" industry insiders are. We need to know what other books they have been or are associated with.

SBR owes us at least that much.

You really think SBR didn't comment to get an extra week of advertising? That's insulting but ok. We were fed a constant diet of everything is ok, we have new processing, payments will go out tomorrow, we always pay blah blah. Even up until Sunday we were assured payments would go out Monday. This morning they were still trying to buy another day and trying to convince us everything was fine. In hindsight we should of hit the panic button sooner. We all wish they would have followed through and got payments going instead of lying through their teeth.

I only used SBR as a guide. Never visited any other sites like this one. But now other posters have shown that BangtheBookie and other sites were telling people that BI was in deep financial trouble a month ago. Another book sent e-mails to players informing them of BI financial problems. Yet you keep claiming that you were clueless right up until the final day? There is no good answer for you here, I suppose that is why you have not answered this ( except by playing dumb ) even tho it has been pointed out several times in several different threads. Why won't you name the backers that you confirmed were financially stable and well respected in the industry?

I hope to hear from the heads of SBR on this soon so everyone can know whats going on here. It has been 2 days now and nothing from John, Lou, or some of the other mods here that can discuss this with some and just at least let them know that they are doing their very best to deal with this.
