Where can we donate to the families of the victims of Sandy Hook?

I assume there will be a charity setup for the families, can the SBR community set something up to donate?

I always like the Poker tourney idea but whatever we can do, lets do it!

My heart goes out to the families affected by this tragedy.

They have no need for your betpoints Lazy.

On a serious note, I am sure you'll be able to find that out after a few more days pass by.

Will they even have a charity set up? I can't remember there being one for the victims of the Colorado Batman shooting earlier this year. Maybe I just missed it though. I'm not sure I'd even want cash from the public for the loss of my child. I'd probably prefer a memorial of some sort instead.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing...no amount of money could replace the loss of a child. It's a nice thought though.

Thought I saw a thread about thus in here earlier...in theory it's a nice idea but not sure donations to families will mean much.. maybe they can put funds towards funeral arrangements or a memorial fund?

Would like to help as well..
Maybe our best donation can be turning in our guns to stArt getting them off the streets..

Just at a lose over this

    Lville,

There are currently other organizations accepting donations for the people affected by the shooting. As of right now we are not planning to do any kind of tournament or donation.

I understand the need to want to do something, but it seems to me that there are far better causes to donate to being that this appears to be a very affluent suburb. Giving money to groups providing mental help to low-income families, homeless, veterans, etc. would be a far better use of the money.

Maybe condolences would be of benefit to the families but more than likely there is very little outside of time that can do anything to ease the pain of losing a child or loved one.

Just posted in a similar thread but I can't imagine money is a necessity for affluent families who lost a child. They likely don't need it and it can't ease the pain.

I would think charities specializing in mental heath issues or gun violence might be better places to donate to.
