    Oklahoma always chokes but...

...they look like a no-brainer in the Cotton Bowl. If I recall, fading the Heisman winner is generally profitable in Bowl games.

This OU team was loaded but came up small (as usual) this season and is now relegated to the Cotton Bowl instead of playing for a championship.

There's a ton of A&M love because of Manziel and the fact that they beat Alabama but I think the Sooners might be the better team here.

Gotta be careful backing Stoops in a big game but I think the Sooners are the right side in this one.

Will probably take Oklahoma +4.5 for at least 5 units.

I think you're spot on here. A&M had their magical season but it won't continue.

Oklahoma's run defense is not good enough - ranked somewhere in the mid 50's in the nation. They don't have the speed to stop Manziel in the box or outside imo, the fact of the matter is he won't be stopped period. Look at how much Oklahoma has struggled against teams with high powered offenses this year. All 3 of these coming towards the end of their schedule which means the defense hasn't improved.

Oklahoma state = Averages 44.7 points a game.
    They scored 48 against OU

West Virginia = Averages 41.6 points a game.
    They scored 49 against OU

    Baylor = Averages 44.1 points a game.
They scored 34 points off OU

Texas AM averages 44.8 points a game (more than all 3 of the teams listed above) in the SEC.

If Texas AM were to lose to any team again this year it would have to be a fundamentally sound defensive team that executes, which Oklahoma is clearly not.

damn twizz....way in the other direction then you in this one. and thats^ the main reason why....plus you got the SEC vs the Big 12. The Big 12 is something like in the 30% ats range in bowl games...i just view oklahoma as a finesse team.

This Texas A&M team is more finesse IMO.

I'm not going to take Oklahoma ML but I think taking the point is the right play.

Texas A&M rolls in this one,too fast, too much Defence, and Johnny Football will be running all over the field, just too much for that weak okl team.

I like A&M in this game and I graduated from OU.

This is the second worst teams Bob Stoops has had. Also, I love how Bob Stoops gets so much grief yet he wins 10 games every year. To say Oklahoma always chokes is an ignorant comment.

    Bob Stoops Resume at Oklahoma:

    149-36
    7-6 in Bowls
    Won three BCS Bowls
    Won a National Title
    8 Conference Championships

I'll take that from head coach. There are probably only two better coaches in the game. You lose to Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, and Urban Meyer to teams that finish #1 and you're a choker? LOL. People are clueless.

So in 13 years Stoops has won one of the toughest conference in America 8 times, produced two Heisman winners, and won a National title.....yeah, he sucks.

10 units on A&M got it at -3 but still. OU lost a DT, A&M o line will dominate. Best of of luck but I'm going with A&M on this one. People underestimate A&Ms D as well because of the La tech game which was a fluke. A&M was up big and then lost focus. Damontre Moore will be putting pressure on Jones the whole game. I like A&M. Even if you don't like Manziel, his O line has enough talent to win the game for them will their other talent. Not to mention their backup QB, showers could start at over 3/4 of all college team so if Manziel gets hurt they are still fine. If Manziel struggles, their running game is good enough to dominate with their o line. Just my opinion. Good luck t wizzle, I'm usually on your side

Anyway, this is the worst front 7 Stoops has had and we have injuries on top of that. Johnny Football should be able to exploit our linebackers in the middle of the field all day. People betting OU probably don't even know this.

The only thing OU has going for them is they have a month to prepare.

Do me a favor and don't infiltrate this thread. Obviously you're free to comment on whatever you like but I'm asking that you keep your long-winded comments out of here. For all that you type you rarely write anything of note.

I'm not saying this to shit on you, I'm being serious - for as long as your posts are there's hardly ever any substance.

Don't take this the wrong way. I'm trying to help you.

First of all, check post #17 where I gave substance. I given way more insight in this thread than you have. You've just made broad generalizations and think OU is loaded just because they are OU. That can't be further from the truth.

Second of all, everything you said in the very first post in this thread was wrong. I had season tickets to OU football games and went to school there from 2003-2007 so I have a feel for the program.

You said OU was loaded. That shows how much you don't know. They are not loaded. Usually OU is littered with draft picks. We have maybe 3 NFL players this year.

OU lost two o-lineman to season ending injuries. Did you know that?

OU lost a starting player on the defensive line for this game. Did you know that?

This is the worst front 7 Stoops has had. Did you know that? Not only are they average at best but they aren't very deep. Look at the games against WVU and Oklahoma State. This isn't a good defense.

OU was damn lucky they didn't lose to WVU and OSU. They could easily be 8-4. Don't tell me about substance when you really don't know what you are talking about here. Don't take it personal. I'm just saying that this isn't a great OU team.

Save your money and maybe you're the one that needs to learn about substance before you create threads not even really nothing about the team.

The coaching change was huge. For those of you that don't know, Sumlin is a Stoop's disciple and was on the staff before he took the Houston job.

Usually agree with you but disagree here. A&M had a new head coach this year so totally new system. Sherman was a jackass and everyone was glad to see him gone.
This year A&m would have absolutely dominated the big 12. It was espically weak this year.

Heisman winners are 5-6 ATS in the last 11 bowl games, including 3-0 in the last 3. Not much of an angle.

Everyone loves the freshman Johnny Football such a great story! I actually like Oklahoma to win this game straight up but just took 4.5 for now. Them Clemson, GT and Nebraska are best play left on the bowl games.
