Really...Greinke the highest paid pitcher in MLB ???

His 24.5 million per year is the highest in MLB. This is just a joke. He is at best 3.2 era guy.

cain is ten times better than he is and getting paid less.

surprising there are dumb teams which will fork out this much money.

He wouldnt be getting this much if other high end free agents were available

He lucked out big time, basically had a bunch of teams in need of high quality pitching and him being able to pick his price

Good for him though, he fleeced the Dodgers and will be set for life now.

Dude looks like a guy that would luck out like this. He's mediocre and terrible in big games. Not quite sure what the major appeal is.
Yeah, his stats and k's can look good sometimes, but this isn't three years ago, We know who this guy is now.

Top pitchers rarely reach free agency, so the ones that do get overpaid. Doesn't mean anyone thinks Greinke is the best pitcher in baseball.

More importantly, who's in charge of the Dodger payroll? They owe 150 million to ten players for 2013 before this signing. They're worse than the Federal Government when it comes to spending.

This makes me wonder how much money the Nationals are going to have to throw at Strasburg in 2014.

he'll be back to his Cy Young status pitching in that ballpark and that weak ass division. the guy has elite stuff and still very young. predicting a big bounce back year for him. perfect ballpark and light hitting division for him to pitch in

Its all good signed ryu hyun jin too theres your 2nd and 3rd starters if dodgers dont land sanchez ...laugh if you want but nobody really wants to face kershaw then greinke and if this korean kid can really hit 90-_95 mph with above avg off speed stuff it looks good for dodgers. Crawford and gonzo return to form dodgers lookin good. See what they can do with bullpen

Similar situation the Blue Jays are in

Trying to get all these players that MIGHT produce. Carl Crawford is injury prone, Adrian can enter big slumps and hasnt been that good lately, Greinke is a head case and could quit without notice, Hanley is a crybaby pussy. Dodger rotation after the top 2 is poor and bullpen is average.

You would like a better chance of success when you spend that much money. Dodgers can only hope everything goes well and guys stay healthy. Regardless, will be interesting to watch them next year. At least they play in a garbage division

you win championships when you have guys who are hungry and want big contracts

look at both the times giants won...several players were playing for big contracts....and they produce in clutch.

whereas players who are already paid big relax and are not good in clutch....these bunch of over-paid dodgers wont win shit...coz they have no hunger.

Looking good on paper and performing on field are two different things.

doesn't matter regardless. they'll never go anywhere as long as Mattingly is calling the shots on the bench.

Who knows ... he pitched amazing for Milwaukee at home, and was basically unstoppable there.

On the road and out of his normal rhythm you never know what you're gonna get. The LA market probably isn't good for his psyche but certainly not as bad as NYY territory.
