yankee fans are whiny little bitches...the rest of the world loves to see them fail when they spend the most money trying to buy championships year after year...the upper mgmt has always been shit...when you cant win with an unlimited bankroll, can you imagine how fukking bad they would be with a salary cap?

Everything is adding up to a NYY sale.
Forced spending caps, no pursuit of big time free agents............
Guarantee you all the Steinbrenner kids sell within the next 3 years (if not sooner)
My grand father was a NYY fan, same with my dad, same with me, I am a Jersey boy originally, they are my families home town team.
I had my run of championships, Scotty B, Tino, Pauly, Jeter.... those teams from 1998-2001 were MY guys.
After 2001 I still loved them, but started to lose a little interest. Tex ain't Tino, even though he has had better numbers and stuff, A-Rod is not Scotty, Swisher is not Pauly..............

New stadium had to be built, but no magic there.

Hey, like I said, my home town team gave me more than my share of thrills, but I am smart enough to know no franchise can win year in, year out, not the Cowboys, not the Montreal Canadiens, not the Lakers, I can deal with 4 or 5 years of down Yankee teams.

    Solid post by the OP

Different organization now. The sons look at it as a business. They want to turn a profit

Steinbrenner's wont own the team for much longer. They are going to sell

Cashman is better than you think. Most stupid stuff like A-rod opt out and resigned he was totally against. He was willing to let him go. He is a good GM but gets overruled alot. I loved the old man but he was mostly a detriment to the team. The yanks golden years occured because he was suspended and his baseball people would not trade the future. The best yanks teams were built with players from the farm system and not hired guns.

the yanks are making a good move and will save a ton from getting under salary cap. Maybe a few lean years ahead but they will be back around the time arod is purged out.

The meatloaf for brains, chain smoking Hank gave A-Rod that recent deal.
Cash begged him not to do it.

Like I said, the Yanks now are a shell of what my Yanks were 13 years ago.

The boss gave us a team to have a chance each and every year to win a champoionship, we live in the best city in the world and we deserve the best players in the game that is a new yorkers right we have grown accustomed to this for yrs and even tho its true the farm system needs to grow but it also has produced some talent in recent yrs cano montero before wang got hurt he was a 19 game winner the still ahve some bluechip catchers in there farm and also some young power arms. Me too love the teams From 1994 and on i grew up with all of them im 43 and i seen jeters first game and god willing ill see his last but , the need for things to get done the way the boss showed results will neve rBE met by any other owner in sports , and my true fear is the steinbrenner boys will totally ruin this , something that was built for yrs can be destroyed by 2 young men with no concept of what it truly means to be the owner of the best and richest franchise in the entire sports world. Ex giving a outrageous contract to a bonafide steroid user not a true winner not a true yankee no way 30 million per for 10 yrs jsut shows u the lack of leadership that might cause this kinda landslide,, and then proced to negotaite hard with thr most popular yankee of our generation and possiblyof all time in derek jeter. Just shows u the ignorance and im glad jeter shut them up and showed hes worth every dollar and more to the organization on and off the field

Clearly, true yankee fans have to be very concerned..This new regime is more about balance sheets and profit margin than winning... This team relies much too much on home runs and pitching staff needs to be improved. Pitching needs to be this organization's top priority moving forward.. Also, scouts havent come up with talented pitchers like a pettite.. Hughes is NOT what they thought he was... They need to ge tyounger ... Nunez is this kind of player.. He just needs to be given 500 at bats and they will see he is a BIG piece of their future..
