Tuberville leaves Texas Tech for Cincinnati?????

Wow. I'm sure they didn't see this coming in Lubbock. Something smells........ that seems like a backwards move. Something has to be going on at Texas Tech.

Probably was on his way out, they didn't seem to like him there and he ripped of his poor little assistants headset.

He isn't a hell of a coach. He did nothing in the Big 12 and Tech had their worst season in 20 years last year.

He knew he was going to be getting his ass kicked in the Big 12 so he bailed.

A hell of a coach doesn't leave a program that has been in the top 25 consistently the past decade for a Big East team like Cincy. That's a step down and should tell you something off the bat.

He had great success at Auburn, that's all that matters to me. In my opinion, he is a great coach.

Chizik won a national title at Auburn and he sucks as a coach. His career record is under .500. Thankfully for him he had one 13-0 year when Auburn "recruited" the best player in the country.

Chizik also had Tommy's senior recruits that year. Also it was 14-0, Tubbs is the one that had the 13-0 season.

For several reasons Tuberville was lights-out v. Ala <--- That in of itself was reason enough to keep'em on the Plains

He also tied or won the west five times and won the SEC once. Also got screwed out of the 2004 title game.

    Night-Tripper

Do you think Aub would be better off right now if they would have retained TT and supported him 100% ?

    And...

I standby what I said. Aub should have kept TT JUST on his record against Ala

My bad... I thought you were making a case for him at Tech. Personally, I wished Auburn had never gotten rid of him... because that would have kept him from showing up on the South Plains. TT's problem is, that he never accepts responsibility for his actions/decisions. And... I'm still laughing about his statement, that he was simply trying to get the assistant off of the field of play when he slapped him upside the head.

Had Butch Jones made his decision a couple of days earlier, Tech would have probably ended up with Baby Dykes, which would have been a good fit.

well that 36-0 kinda helped shove him on out the door. Ooopsie. I think Tubs was a much greater coach thatn Chizik. I will miss Gene. But Tubs also had gotten a little lazy. Although after Jetgate I can't say that I blame him.

The Big 12 has degenerated into Texas High School football. All spread offenses, no defense. With all your games ending 70-67 or so, who needs basketball?

How long before Texas Tech reaches out to dickrod?

I initially thought this made a lot of sense...Until someone made the comment about Tenn. That would have been an intriguing fit.

I don't think he could stand being in the Pass Happy, Offense heavy Big 12. In fact I know it was too much for him. He is much more comfortable playing a 17-13 ball game.

Happy as a Cincy fan. Maybe this will stop the revolving door of coaches (but probably not).

Besides the fact that Tech fans hate him and he hates Lubbock, his wife is also facing criminal charges for an auto accident involving death

BTW, I am not a Tech fan
