Barry Alvarez making the rounds on the radio today

Real pissed about how the whole Bielema leaving went down

I don't understand Bielema leaving. Arkansas must of paid him a boatload of fukkin cash?

Wisky a much better job. Why go be a bottom feeder in the SEC when you can be a big dog in the Big10

SEC is definitely a better brand of football but Arkansas is a shit job

I'll give you top 10, top 5 seems like it would probably be a stretch. Probably fell a couple of spots after my ex transferred from there

Maybe the end game for him is an NFL gig

Few good years at Arkansas and Jerry puts in a good word for him and he gets an NFL job somewhere

Other then that or the fukkin cash it makes no sense

Get your fukkin brains beat in every year by Saban, Muschamp and Les or be a big dog in the Big10

    i think he went from $2.5 million/year to $3.2 million/year

i predict bielema will be fired in 2-3 years. he had it made in wisconsin, big state with NO OTHER DIVISION 1 OR DIVISION 2 SCHOOLS. how easy can you get, 5 million people to recruit from and there isn't another football team in the state that can offer scholarships

I totally agree with you guys. Shocked to see this on ESPN yesterday. Had no idea it was going on. What's even more interesting... how can Alvarez coach this team in the Bowl Game? I understand he's one bad ass coach.... a trusted name... but he wasn't with these kids all year? How does he really know who's good in key situations during that bowl game? I question this.

This is why the bowl system will eventually crumble. No one cares to stick around to coach the bowl game unless it's one vs two. Even les miles knew better thanks to leave for michigan when lsu had the chance to wins a national championship.

its more of a figurehead role, no point in naming a coach at this point. plus he is a great leader, its not like he doesn't know anything about the team. from what ive heard from listening to the radio and such he is involved and talks to the coaches and players often.

just having his presence their though is going to help wisconsin, he built wisconsins football program. before him wisconsins football program sucked ass, and he has won rose bowls. unlike bielma who could never win the big game, and would always lose the close games.

Alvarez should thank him. Maybe now they'll stop losing a few games every year to shtty teams and compete for a national championship.

Team captains asked him to coach. Afterall, he is the only coach who actually WON the Rose Bowl at UW. I hear they would like to talk to Peterson from Boise State. I think the main issue Alvarez has with this move is it's a year to late. He could have had Chryst who left for Pitt last year or even the fella from NIU who was an assistant under Bielema had Bielema made this move earlier.

    3 most likely scenarios

    1. wants to be nfl coach and trying to get in with jerry jones, already suggested but makes sense.

    2. sanctions coming we dont know about, already suggested dont see this happening though.

    3. didnt like alvarez, seems quite possible.

Sounds like the biggest issue was that UW doesn't spend big bucks on assistants so they are always leaving for greener pastures. SEC pours more money into football than anyone else. So he's gonna make around $700,000 more a year, but he will be able to keep his assistants around. Of course it will make no difference because I don't believe he's that good of a coach and will probably be fired by Arkansas in 2 years.

Bielema won't last - he ll be fired in 4 years or less, hes not a great coach been extremely lucky to take advantage when big ten has been down - Russ Wilson bailed him out last year and osu being punished bailed him out this year
