    True. Like if someone gets buried they feel they somehow jinxed themselves by posting on a message board when in reality, they just had the matchup all wrong..

    but the jinxing notion is entertained ingame too. during the UF/FSU game a pretty sharp UF alumnus told me to stop mentioning good first half plays cause I might jinx them. I just laughed it off. After Halftime sure enough FSU comes out strong.

    i know he means "act like you've been there" but i'm starting to believe superstition runs rampant with gamblers.

    What about "a mush"...same concept right? someone who "jinxes" your wager? You all joke but these ideas are cemented in a gambler's psyche. they want every edge they can get.
