Detroit Lions Trade Calvin Johnson or 1st round pic disscusion

I think Detroit should trade calvin johnson while he still is hot on the market. Not only for The Lions but Calvin Deserves to go to a winning team like the patriots or something. Now i think they should trade him and get a GOOD ass RB (running Back) and a Wide Receiver a tall one and or a Corner Back maybe middle LB.Now in the 1st round i suggest they get a Good RB preferablly the one off ALABAMA if hes elgeble or they should get a Line backer preferably Manti TAIO

Johnson will never leave Detroit. He was part of the 0-16 team. He will retire with DET just like Barry did.

    Book it.

BigBill didn't the Lions make the playoffs last year? They are not in a rebuilding stage. They have some of the biggest upside players in football in Stafford Johnson Suh Fairley Levy Delmas. Honestly all they really need is 1 lockdown corner and 1 linebacker. Put it this way, if the lions had derrel revis they would be 1st in the NFC right now imo.

A shutdown corner is probably the most important defensive position int he game today

Yes they do need a Corner but with Johnson Getting covered by 3 guys hes useless he really is and on top of that he has Nerve Damage in his hands.Football players are like Stock Market Buy low enough and sell high.Calvin Johnson should be traded befor he gets hurt or his performance becomes Mediocore and leaves him out side of the lime light like the past seasons with the lions. It wasnt till laste year he got all this attention

I would trade Stafford before I traded CJ. Only a few can do what CJ does, anybody can do what Stafford is doing this year. Poor completion % and poor footwork and mechanics.

RB's are a dime a dozen, why would you trade CJ for one?

You can get a good one in the 3rd round, just need to block for him.

He won't "leave", but not for those reasons. He won't leave because he just signed a 8 year contract. NFL trades are rare in general ans they wouldn't cut him until and unless he sucks. So yeah, he's not going anywhere.

Johnson is No good anymore to many people Covering him whats the point in keeping him if you cant use him?He has more value in being traded for some solid players rather then a 1 trick pone'y.

send stafford and pettigrew to buffalo for fred jackson scott chandler and a 1st round pick.

fred jackson = top 5 run game in league

chandler = good tight end who can develop into pettigrew

use buffalo 1st round pick = draft a elite WR

use their own first round pick = draft a qb

Fred Jackson is 31 years old. Guy is past his prime.

Calvin has had 24 catches for nearly 500 yards and 2 TDs in the past three games and you claim he's not good anymore?

    Redneck hick...

They actually drop a cb infront of Johnson and Behind Johnson this allows only a short pass to Calvin instead of the long ball that Detroit has grown acostume to.A short pass=no good and the other receivers cant cath a ball nor are the any taller then 6 foot

Detroit has all the pieces, Stafford just needs to step up and take control of this team.

I blame coaching. I'd fire Schwartz and get Gruden or someone that can light a fire under this team.

IF it take 3 guys just to cover johnson meaning they have less people to cover everyone else, one guy=3 of their guys why in the world would you trade him? LOL.... this just mean the other player need to step up or replace....

It is frustrating without a running game to speak of - Johnson gets a lot of attention
build a solid offensive line (which the Lions only had once, until they let Lomas Brown leave) and Johnson will see single coverage again.

But for God's sake don't go through yet another "rebuilding" phase. I've seen way to many of those in Detroit

    5 catches, 103 yards, and a TD.

With a second half to go.

Leads the league in receiving yards, with all the attention he gets.

    Yeah, lets trade CJ81.

    Try harder!
