This. GSP will wrestlefuck his way to an easy decision. This fight is just like any other GSP fight. Not sure why people are sweating it, other than maybe worries about his ACL?

I'm betting GSP, just trying to decide how much.

People who think GSP may not be 100% are out to lunch.

People will be saying "It looks like he never left" after the fight or "certainly hasn't lost anything".

for those that don't venture into the UFC sub forum, i'll pose the question in this thread.

everyone is assuming GSPs game plan is to take this to the ground for GNP. well what if he goes to shoot and that knee doesn't feel right and he suddenly doesn't trust it and is forced to keep things standing? GSP has improved on his striking by light years but he it's not like he is world class or has knock out power.

are you kidding me? he has drilled his takedowns daily for the last few months but ALL OF A SUDDEN it will feel weird and he won't trust his knee anymore? he wouldn't be fighting were his knee not at a 100%.

and you know that he has been "drilling his take downs daily for the last few months" how??? you have no idea if the surgery has cause his take downs to feel different or not have enough trust in it. its a different story in camp than it is inside the ring.

so sick of hearing the "he wouldn't take the fight if he wasnt 100% talk" you dont know that shit. the slightest discomfort could be a nuetralizer

yes, of course. gsp will probably roll to the cage in his wheelchair which he hasn't left since his surgery. he will test his knee for the first time in the ring against carlos condit.

GSP has probably shot for takedowns thousands of times in this camp. Haha. Hilarious post. GSP by pure domination. I think people are underestimating his standup too.

Well, it's called common sense. GSP already lost the belt because he's been out for so long. He was the reigning WW Champion for years. Do you think after this extremely long lay off he would just rush into something like this if he wasn't 100%? Do you think that GSP just rolled out of a hospital bed and is going to fight Condit tonight? He's gone through EXTENSIVE training, sparring, and preparation for this fight and if there was any problem with his knee don't you think he would have pulled out?

Do you think for 1 second that GSP doesn't have the best doctors watching him with a microscope? Do you think this is GSP's one and only shot to make something out of his career so hes going to just fight through an injury?

The knee will.not be a factor, sir.

He went to the best specialist doctors in the world for his injury, and had more than enough time to recuperate. He's not a cocky/arrogant guy, he said himself he thought about hanging it up and wouldn't come back if he didn't feel completely 100%.

Look at what Adrian Peterson did coming off an ACL injury. It's hardly the death sentence it used to be.

And lol @ the dude who brings up the Serra fight like it means anything. If anything that fight changed GSP's mentality for the better, to never overlook opponents and train his ass off to minimize the chance of fluke shit happening. If you watched the rematch you'd know that first fight was a joke.

Jordan Burroughs may be one of the best examples of how you can rebound from a serious injury. He tore his PCL and LCL yet has come back and gone unbeaten and just ran through everybody in wrestling. Obviously he doesn't have to worry about getting kicked in the knee but wrestling on it's own still puts a lot of stress on the knees and he has done just fine!.

I agree with CDM. Lol @ the guys bringing Serra into the mix... Coooome on, guys.

If GSP wins and there is a superfight between GSP and Silva I do see Silva losing. Silva did lose to Roy Chonan via Flying Scissor Heel Hook and I could see GSP doing the same thing.

Oh, I didn't talk up GSP's ability at all -he's amazing. He's a guy that makes me want to watch him fight - he's the guy that got me interested in UFC. No idea how he packs all that muscle in for his weight class. Guy is a freak of nature.

My point was just injuries in pro athletes don't necessarily ruin their careers - but 'trust' in your ability to do what you do is in question. It takes an elite person mentally/physically to do so. GSP is likely that kind of person - however I'm happy with the odds on Condit now to make a play. Will I win? Doubt it. GSP is amazing. He'll be ready to fight. 5 rounds against a strong fighter? Rather play the dog and see how it works out.

Condit could have squeezed in a fight before the title fight but chose not to. Condit's been out of the mix for a long time, too.

It's not the lock of the century but I like GSP's chances.

No offense to anybody that has bet on Condit but I really hope he gets fukked up tonight for what he pulled in the Diaz fight.

LOL @ him doing Omaplata drills in BJJ class. Yeah, good luck pulling that submission off against GSP. This isnt GSP/Hughes 1. All that stand up work he was doing is going to be pointless.. He should have been focusing on hip escapes and realistic submissions from his back. LOL.. Omaplata. in his fukkn dreams

You nailed it. Ah well, did good enough on the undercard to have an ok night.
Wasn't much of a fight, really - outside the 3rd round... Stilll have 0 idea how the judges score fights in UFC, but 1 said GSP won the 3rd, which is a joke, IMO... However, St Pierre is an elite athlete, he won - was a good fight. I was shocked how passive Condit was. WAY too passive standing up... Who does Condit think he is? Jon Jones? c'mon man.

From a striking analysis stand point, Condit was actually quite aggressive. He wasn't rushing in throwing wild hooks, no, but other than his tentative second round, he is arguably the most aggressive striker GSP's ever fought. I understand it may look like he was being passive, but I assure you, he was anything but that. Tactical aggression is something Condit does very well, and he did it expertly tonight.
