Bypassing ip blocks is easy, but it just depends on how much pinny actually wants no action from US players. If they're honestly going to ask for driver's license and passports from everyone and stuff, and block any account (not ip address) of people in the US, then you're going to need a canadian to go through to continue, in most cases.

I do know a couple canadians I trust enough to not steal from me, but haven't bothered asking them to set up a pinny for me yet.

    1. figure out the laws/create workarounds for the loopholes in gambling laws there
    2. move to Canada
    3. obtain dual citizenship
    4. create a service where you place wagers for U.S. citizens in a legal manner with said loopholes from Canada
    5. play Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker while relaxing from Canada

Ah yeah I can see their point of view, and have no problem whatsoever with it - I am sure it costs them a fortune to get the streaming rights in the first place so if I were them I wouldnt want to just have it out there for anyone to be able to use completely free and without benefit to themselves in some respect.

In the same way with Pinny as a market leader - why shouldnt they protect themselves to some extent to make sure that their most up to date dynamic lines are only available to accounts that are funded, and more likely to bet, with them.

Totally agree. Definitely too many pushy prosecutors and law enforcements officers sucking up government revenue. They have to seek out trouble where none exisist in order to justify their jobs/budgets.

There is a reason this country has 1/4 of the world's prison population and it is not because Americans have innate criminal tendencies. Total joke of a country, I am presently searching for Mexican beachfront property and will be moving before the New Year. Pinnacle has been using a delay for users who aren't logged in for at least a few months.

So that was already in effect.

What good does using a vpn or proxy do when your account is an account with an u.s. address? Will they not just block those accounts from logging in altogether? Or will the account still exist and be accessible so long as your ip address shows up as non-american? Would it matter if the address is not always in the same country? How does a vpn work if you don't actually own a computer in the other country? Are there privacy or speed issues?

The other issue is, if you are on a VPN to hide your country from pinnacle, could that cause a problem with your other books who know you as an american as they will also see the foreign IP?

Get a Canadian IP address .

Open a Canadian Pinny account, you shouldn't need ID to have an account if you're not depositing.

Other books don't care if you're in Canada, it's not illegal here.

This is true. Had a look today and the change was within 5 seconds of it changing on dynamic lines. Although with the dynamic updating on a timer it could have hung a little longer.

I suppose using a seperate dedicated computer with the vpn for pinny would solve that issue if it was a problem.

This is so stupid, anyone actually still using pinnacle to bet from the usa is probably already using a vpn, so blocking does nothing to stop that. Why can't they just get the proper documents to confirm people are resident where they say they are....what use is the IP block other then to block people from seeing their lines in real time?

Pinnacle Sports shuts off US players

Gambling News on November 12th, 2012

In the aftermath of the Queen’s District Attorney’s Office arrest of 25 Americans across 5 different States associated with illegal sports betting (see previous InfoPowa report), pinnacle Sports has clarified its position on accepting play from US-resident punters in an e-mailed statement sent to customers.
The company notified customers that as of November 19, 2012 it will automatically block access to its site from all IP addresses originating from within the United States and has enhanced its geo-location technology to that end.
A TwoPlusTwo forum poster received the statement which said:
“Since January 2007 it has been our intention to not accept wagers from the United States.
“We had taken several measures to assist with this initiative in addition to diligently enforcing country of origin upon account creation. We are now investing in technology to assure that logins into our system do not occur from undesirable jurisdictions.”
pinnacle Sports is requesting proof of residency in the form of an ID, passport or driver’s licence as well as a current utility bill as proof of address.
It invites customers unable to comply with its conditions to request a withdrawal prior to November 19 saying “”Any pending plays in your account will have action. Once graded, you may return to your account to request any remaining balance. Our normal withdrawal policies will apply.”
At the time of the indictments, it was claimed that three men among those arrested, Brandt England of Las Vegas; George Molsbarger of Santa Monica, California; and Stanley Tomchin of Montecito, California have ownership interests in Pinnacle Sports’ offshore online sports book.
The trio were charged with enterprise corruption, money laundering and conspiracy, with England additionally charged with promoting gambling.

When they started shutting down our access to these places it really showed who ran this county and it wasnt the people, it was the banks who have scammed and stolen their way to owning this country, they should have let very penetrating one of them fail a few years ago, but they didnt and their right back doing the same shit they did before.

Its not the government that says its bad its the banks that wont process the money or accept the checks. I'd like to see very one of the pieces of shit collapse, but the government just wont let it happen, banks are the sole reason why this country is as screwed up as is it right now. Had they not been deregulated this shit we have now never would have happened.

Ancient history now and way too late to fix it beyond letting them fail and starting all over, but it also isnt just an American issue, every country but China (who runs their bank) is frigging bankrupt because of the shit banks pull.
Like your points - but in the scheme of things - you should move to Vegas. I did some years back - and yeah, I lost TONS of income over the government cracking down on what we do. Heck, losing neteller sunk me.
Can't blame any party at all over this - both sides are killing us. Gotta put blame on VEGAS money buying off politicians. Hate to bite the hand that feeds - but they are killing easy/accessible money to us punters that live on the fringe. Be nice if both parties took the tax revenue seriously. I hear crap in the local paper about cards online - but nothing - NOTHING will touch the decade+ run pokerstars had going in the US. Square game, mostly (hard to beat collusion online) - fast payouts - meh... We all know the story. I'm sure if online cards are o.k. in NV by law, the rake will be like party poker (waste of time).

Sorry, if you're a proper punter, you dont have party affiliation with US politics. To be fair, though, it was the Republicans that mauled my lifestyle from online to 'downtown' (Bill Frist, thanks - neteller was a SCOURGE on what now?). Earn rate goes WAY down playing against WSOP BROS that play with their chips with shades on and a 'pro' hat - and they shuffle their chips trying to figure out if their q-8 is going to win a pot with the board A K 9 8 2 (rainbow) for an hour. Crap, that goes on in limit games. Ugh.

As for punting sports? I hate having to leave my house to do it proper now. It changes everything.
