no he's actually 100% wrong. read my post above. Im a Knicks fan so i've seen plenty of his offense and HALF of it, if not more is hitting the three ball..

    D'Antoni + Nash = points.

the only question I have is will Kobe and Dwight Howard listen
    to a coach, any coach.

Nash and Dwight should excel incredibly though with the pick and roll
Since when does Nash suck at the three ball?

These guys will walk all over the tool. He doesnt have shit toshow or the years he has coached, a bunch of ass beatings by the lakers and a complete frigging failure in New York.

But he is a players coach which is code for he lets them do whatthey want, which with howard and kobe is what you need.

Stan Van Gundy is ten times the coach mike frigging dantoni is but he doesnt kiss player ass so therefore he cant get a job. Obviously Lakers wouldnt hire van gundy after what howard did to him, but he would be a stellar replacement once howard leaves after this failed season. Lakers couldnt afford him anyway, and thats why they didnt hire phil.

If they but off howard and all the contracts their on the hook for stay theyll have close to 200 million in salaries and taxes next year, add in phils 15 million and thats a lot of scratch for an aging bunch of misfits. Plus they still owe brown 12 million.

So they got a cheap guy who is a good interim coach and after this season you might see a complete house cleaning, unfortunately they never got rid of the guy they should have last year...kobe. But its about money and people still pay big bucks to see him play for some reason.

I put them at making the play offs now worse than when Brown was coaching them, even though everyone thinks this is an improvement, once they get done with this cupcake home stand people will see that it didnt change anything.

D'Antoni + Nash five years ago. Now Nash is 38, and he has to share the ball with Kobe (no matter what kind of offense they're running....)

Like Cowherd said this morning, D'Antoni is like having ice cream for breakfast.

why didnt they consider nate mcmillan ?

he was easily better than d'antoni or sloan. Second best option after jackson.

mcmillan was known to get max potential out of his players..and that what lakers need.

D'antoni is an OK fit. He won't try to get the grizzled veterans to play anything new (Princeton O) he'll just say Nash will run the ball up the court, World Peace will set some picks, the other 3 guys move around a little bit, Nash will give you the ball for an easy bucket then get back on defense.

With Howard/Kobe/WP on defense they should be able to put up a fight against Spurs/OKC when they give 100% effort in the playoffs.

Many people tend to forget there are 2 seasons in professional sports - Regular Season and Playoffs - they are 2 completely different styles of play.

Lakers have to make the play offs first, their chances are lsess now with this guy coaching them, they should make it assuming everyone can stay healthy, but that is a big if right now.

Like I said lakers and their fans alays have an excuse, and theyre always ready with one, if this team is 500 or less atthe all star break without anyone hurt then what? If they score 110-115 a night but give up 115-120 what good does it do?

Askt eh Knicks how great he was, and they had some talent there also.

His style desont work, why do you think he hasnt won anything? He had a lot of talent in Phoenix and nash in his prime, now he has Nash beat up and old, Kobe beat up and...well.. kobe, a coach killer in Dwight Howard, and ron artest who will lead the league in 3 point attempts now. And a bunch of scrubs no one ever heard of or would like to forget. Oh yeah and Pao Gasol who checked out of the lakers as soon as he heard they wanted to trade him.

I hope they make the play offs then get swept out by Clippers or a lower seed than them (if they dont get the eight seed).

i've been saying this since the firing of brown.

if jerry was still in total charge there is no question phil would be the coach...

but jim buss hates phil jackson.

you're out of your mind if you think phil didn't want the job. again, he just literally thought he was worth that much and all those concessions. that's how these egotistical hollywood minds think. he would have eventually tried to parlay all that into a big front office position with the lakers once he found his replacement. he massively overplayed his hand and was called on it, simple as that.

i'm not a huge jim buss fan either, but the right decision was made here. fukk phil and all his guru buddhist eastern medicine bullshit.

Meanwhile, things are starting as poorly for D'Antoni in Los Angeles as they ended in New York. The Lakers, still without Steve Nash and Pau Gasol, were never really in the game while losing their fourth straight and falling to 9-14.

The guy knows nothing about coaching stars. Look what's happening in Newyork now.....carmelo is balling and knicks are rolling unlike when he was there. He can't inspire star players/lazy player. Defence has always been poor

Howard is a cancer on any team, the Lakers don't have that much team speed they could very well start slowing things down and trying to win half court games.

pretty much everything I said from day one has come to fruition. but the myopic lakers fans like to do what they do and try and divert the attention from this abortion of a team onto something completely unrelated.
