In case you missed it earlier, Miguel Cabrera...
Appeared as a pinch hitter, got walked intentionally, then was immediately replaced by a pinch runner.
My question is did Miggy even need to walk up to the plate?

Box score for the Cleveland Guardians vs. Detroit Tigers MLB game from August 11, 2022 on ESPN. Includes all pitching and batting stats.

    Walk to the plate.
    Walk to first base.
    Walk back to the dugout.
    Walk to the showers.
    Go home.

And to think, he makes about 200,000 dollars a game.

(Garret Morris on SNL as Chico Escuela also used that line in an SNL sketch as well)

The local team in the Atlantic League (Independent) here in Ct. plays with an experimental pitch clock and are going to experiment in a year or two with robo-umps.

I like the Atlantic League, for eight bucks you can sit right behind home plate and watch a league pretty much filled with ex pros trying to make it back to the show, and talented kids out of HS trying to prove themselves to pro scouts.

I go to about six games a summer.
The overall talent averages out to a high AA league/low AAA league.

How many players do you recognize?

Morris was funny AF on SNL. Back when it was funny. Damn, why couldn't the '70's entertainment world just continue on and on?

Yep. Just have the manager point to Miggy, make a few circles with his finger and have the pinch runner run out to first. They want to speed up the game, so that could work. Makes as much sense as putting a ghost runner on second in extras.

Las Vegas' AAA team (PCL) uses a pitch clock. It has the effect of making almost every game take between 2:45 and 3:15, whether the final score is 5-3 or 15-1; it's coming soon to the majors.

                    I'm liking that.
The reliever rule is a good one and has sped things up a bit.

Nice ballpark. We go to the Aviator's games when the Bees are in town because we like the Angels. And we already have tickets for the minor league playoffs and championship which will be here.

I like that Frontier League, that's for pretty much teens out of HS with talent looking to get noticed, or used to be anyways.

The Atlantic League here is pretty much players with established talent looking to get back in MLB ("The Show") or previously overlooked by scouts looking to get noticed.

                          Still good baseball.

Im not a big fan of The Iowa Cubs games here. The Stadium is just so so and the food stinks. About 15 years ago went to Churchill Downs for a visit and went to A Louisville Bats game that stadium was very cool, Also i did used to love going to Phoenix Firebirds games At Scottsdale stadium before the Diamondbacks made them move in 1998.I love Hot Weather so i enjoyed those 102-degree nights there in the summer and caught a lot of foul balls i have about 20 pacific coast league balls from that time!
