Has anyone tried something so dumb? (Or smart depending how you look at it)

An 18 Bet challenge to get to £1,248,215.47?

So I had this idea to do it during the NFL season every week, however I didn't do it in week 1, and only dug out all my calculations at the start of the NBA season.

If you bet only on spreads or over/unders you tend to get -110 odds (the occasional +100) this mean you are pretty much doubling up with each bet (You use your winnings from your previous bet on the next, so on and so forth example below). So within 18 bets, you can become a millionaire. Yes I know it is extremely hard and I pretty much have a 55% success rate on bets since 2009, so how Will I suddenly hit 100% in my next 18 bets??? But if you don't at least try you will never know?

Anyway, I am thinking would it be possible to be very selective and only pick lines that are great value (which everyone should be doing anyway) and get to the million. I don't want to put an sort of time limit on myself but I think if I only look at NBA and the occasional NFL line it could speed up the process, but like I said. I want to be very frugal with this, I am not making this my main aim as I still want to bet and play other things as I see gambling as a pass time anyway. But as a side project in which I spend 1-2 hours per day looking for value I think it could pay off eventually? (Or maybe I am just mad and should give up the dream)

As I said I would post my figures for all to see:

    Bet 1: £11- £21
    Bet 2: £21- £40.09
    Bet 3: £40.09- £76.54
    Bet 4: £76.54- £146.12
    Bet 5: £146.12- £278.96
    Bet 6: £278.96- £532.56
    Bet 7: £532.56- £1016.71
    Bet 8: £1016.71- £1940.99
    Bet 9: £1940.99- £3705.53
    Bet 10: £3705.53- £7074.19
    Bet 11: £7074.19- £13,505.27
    Bet 12: £13,505.27- £25,782.79
    Bet 13: £25,782.79- £49,221.69
    Bet 14: £49,221.69- £93,968.68
    Bet 15: £93,968.68- £179,394.75
    Bet 16: £179,394.75- £342,480.89
    Bet 17: £342,480.89- £653,827.15
    Bet 18: £653,827.15- £1,248,215.47

It's all about balls and realizing that If I lose at say Bet 12 or something, that I am not losing 25k but £11. I also as a fail safe really thought that if I bank say 10% of my winnings every 4-5 bets I pretty much give myself another shot at it.

So yes this thread is more of an idea with questions in it, but the real questions are; Has anyone thought of this before and if they have, were they/you successful? If you were what did you do to keep yourself motivated and not to steer away from the plan etc.

    I want opinions from everyone!!!

    Thanks for your time.

Winning 18 in a row is easy. I do it at least twice a week.

Well I know it's crazy, but I aint looking at a week, I think it could be done in a 6 month period. Maybe a bit longer. Just being very selective, I am already up to bet 3. But Already I am getting the shakes.

I researched this and am pretty sure you are the only one who has ever thought of this approach.

    Kudos and best of luck!!

Really, thought there would be others. But thanks man, another thing that entered my mind was that if I do start getting to 10-11-12 bets, will I start getting limited and upwards of that would there still be any sportsbooks available that will take my bets?

No shouldn't be much of a problem.

Ok, I have heard this and a few other people have suggested this. However I am from the UK and no UK/European sports books offer this feature. Are there any that allow UK users. I would prefer not to use paypal for deposits either, direct deposits is how I roll.

alot of people are going to disagree with me here but, using this technique with pro sports will not work.
